The United States of America has not seen a female president yet, but the country may get its first female vice-president if Joe Biden and Kamala Harris win the 2020 election. Still, women have always been an influential part of the White House and even if we don't see it directly, the First Ladies have held important positions in the history of the country. Eleanor Roosevelt, Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Obama, and more have occupied headlines as their respective husbands' confidantes, supporters and motivators. Due recognition has never been given to these women whose importance to the history of the US is underrated.

CNN, however, is set to change that with its latest docuseries 'First Ladies' that will take a look at the lives of the women behind the men at the White House and thus will give viewers a peek into the lives of several of the past First Ladies of the United States. The program will be hosted by Robin Wright. Who better to host than the best fictional First Lady Claire Underwood?

Release date

The six-part docuseries, 'First Ladies', will premiere on CNN on Sunday, October 4, at 10/9c. 'First Ladies' will also stream live for subscribers via CNNgo and on the CNN mobile apps for iOS and Android.
