'Fargo' Season 4 Episode 4 Promo: Josto Fadda confronts brother Gaetano with a gun to his d**k, calls him weak
At the beginning of 'Fargo' Season 4, Ethelrida Smutney (E'myri Crutchfield) said, "History is made up of the actions of individuals. And yet, none of us can know at the time we act, that we are making history.” So what we have realized as we have watched a few episodes of this season is that the individuals that we have met so far are at the moment, without realizing the fact, making history that will be retold to generations that follow over and over again.
If that truly is the case, this confrontation between Josto Fadda and his brother Gaetano (Salvatore Esposito) will definitely take the cake and go down in history as an epic war of words. Gaetano tells his brother that he cannot stand how others have conceived them as weak. Josto surprisingly says that they are right and then ends up pointing his gun at Gaetano's di** and telling his brother to "Do it". The first shot that Josto fired as he entered the room missed but Gaetano's knife is nowhere enough to deal with Josto's gun. Donatello's sons are dealing with internal conflict even as Loy Cannon (Chris Rock) attempts to come up with his own schemes.
In the last episode, Rabbi Mulligan (Ben Whishaw) was forced into going after Loy's elder son Lemuel despite the close bond that he has with Loy's other son Satchel. This is the result of Josto pressuring Rabbi, who has not managed to get a seat at the table with the Italian family despite betraying his own Irish family and uprooting them. So Rabbi, if we look at things pragmatically doesn't hold enough power within the Italian household. To put it lightly, it is as if Rabbi is a member of their club for namesake, but his entry to the VIP room has been banned. So, when he is faced with having to killer Lemuel who is with Leon, the conflict that he would feel is obvious. After all, he had come to consider Loy a person that he could be comfortable around and talk to, if not trust. So, in the face of this move by Rabbi, we wonder how the dynamics between Loy, his son Satchel and Rabbi will change or if at all.
In the promo, Loy is also informed of an oncoming war and he is ready to face it. He stands tall and we see a huge fire spread as if to symbolically tell us the destruction that is to come in the upcoming episode. After the ending of episode 1 where Loy and Josto were flashed side to side on split-screen, it was clear that the two would be on the opposing sides of a central conflict, and this might arrive sooner than later.
'Fargo' Season 4 news episodes air on Sunday at 9 pm ET on FX and can be streamed on Hulu.
