NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Trevor Noah who is all set to host the Grammy Awards for the third time has hinted at a surprise performance by a "favorite" female artist at the awards. In a podcast on Tuesday, January 31, Noah shared that though he does not listen to music albums in full, in the past year he has been a fan of the works of artists from the best-nominated albums.

The 32-year-old comedian said, "I've enjoyed everything that's come up this year. Everything from DJ Khaled and JAY-Z and what they did together. And I've loved Kendrick [Lamar]'s work and Beyoncé was a soundtrack of my life," and added, "Harry Styles followed me around everywhere I went." In the People Everyday podcast, he said, "So in many ways, the Grammys is always a wonderful celebration of the soundtrack of your year, the ups and downs, the highs, the lows, the joys, and the sadnesses."

How many times did Trevor Noah host the Grammys?

Prior to this, Noah hosted the Grammys in 2021 and 2022. Moreover, Noah will be hosting the Grammy Awards this Sunday, February 5, from Los Angeles' Crypto.com Arena. Talking about his experience at the ceremony, the former 'The Daily Show' host shared about his favorite parts of the job. He said, "It's a lot easier to say yes when you see who's gonna be at the Grammys and you see everybody from Beyoncé to Adele to Lizzo, to Bad Bunny to Harry Styles, you know, everybody competing for Album of the Year, in a year where Beyoncé might break the record for a most awarded individual."

"I mean, why would you not wanna be a part of that?" he added. At the podcast, he also talked about finding it easier to come back every year as he has always enjoyed collaborating with people at the job in the past.

'He’s playing with us'

While talking about hosting the Grammys, Noah hinted that some fan favorites will be performing on stage at the awards. "One of your favorite performers is a woman, and that woman is going to be performing at the Grammys. Then one of your other favorite performers is a man, and that man is going to be performing at the Grammys, and you're going, Oh, but that could be anyone. But you know, it's not anyone though because you've been listening to their album the whole year and it's been huge."

Following Noah's teasing of the possibility of a fan favorite performing on Sunday, social media responded in excitement and confusion on which artist will go on stage. One Twitter user wrote, "Unless it's Taylor no one of importance cares," and another wrote, "It better be an actual fan favorite cause I don’t want to see Cardi there."

Debating on whether Taylor, Beyonce, or Rihanna coming to the awards, Twitter users expressed their curiosity. One user wrote, "Beyonce is coming," and another opined, "It's a surprise so it's definitely Beyoncé or Taylor," while someone wrote, "Rihanna everyone, get up."

"Are we not gonna say that it is Miley singing flowers since she’s been rehearsing yesterday without any performances announced whatsoever?," a user tweeted and another joked, "He’s playing with us."

"I’m not even gonna get my hopes up," a user remarked and another tweeted, "I don't think it'll be Rih because the Superbowl was promoted as her comeback to music, and a bad performance this weekend could taint the reception of next weekend. So Taylor or Beyonce you all"
