Kang Tae-oh explains the meaning behind his famous 'that's disappointing' scene

In his interview with GQ Korea, Kang Tae-oh spoke about a series of topics from his past success to the sudden boost of his popularity with 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' to how he handles malicious comments. One question, in particular, was about the actor's thoughts while filming the 'that's disappointing' scene. Kang Tae-oh explained that he was initially worried about the reception of the scene. The actor says that Lee Jun-ho's character always waited for Young-woo's first move and only reacted in response to it.

Considering the character Eun-bin played was that of an autistic attorney, it was but natural for Kang Tae-oh to be worried about the response his character would receive. Tae-oh stated, "This is the first scene where he approaches Young-woo first and takes action." He added that his main concern was that it would look out of character for Jun-ho to suddenly appear so brazen in contrast to the character he had been portraying over the first six episodes.

Kang Tae-oh then went on to explain the meaning behind 'that’s disappointing'. He said, "That's disappointing does not mean that Jun-ho was literally disappointed. He must have felt happy, shy, and embarrassed at the same time. There were so many thoughts and abstract emotions that couldn’t be explained in words."

Tae-oh explains how it took him several takes with different emotions, including one with a smile or another with sadness in his eyes. The interview then followed Tae-oh's personal way of dealing with emotions as he mentioned he is a very vocal person in real life when it comes to expressing his feelings of love.
