SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: A lot of hearts are going to break as the popular ENA K-drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' comes to an end on August 18, 2022. With the show on its last week with the final two episodes airing this Wednesday and Thursday, fans had been talking about how the show needs a new season. Will there be a season 2 of 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'?

The Park Eun-bin-starrer K-drama 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' started with initial ratings of 0.9 per cent per episode and jumped to the highest viewership ratings of 15.8 per cent proving that an earnest, well-researched story is what fans want. Now as the makers of the show promise a second season, not much is known about what the future holds in store for 'Extraordinary Woo' other than the fact that it is expected to release by 2024.

The makers of the show revealed that since the show was initially planned with one season in mind, the current cast was booked. As the cast moves on with other projects and different commitments, the makers wish to hold lengthy discussions with the actors involved in order to figure out an ideal schedule. The producers anticipate a Season 2 with 90 per cent of the cast and crew and hope to have more information in the days to come.

Which characters will return for 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' Season 2?

As the makers discuss a second season for the drama, fans surely cannot see the show with anyone aside from Park Eun-bin as the titular character Attorney Woo Young-woo. Since Kang Tae-oh will enlist for his mandatory military service on August 18, it is impossible for him to work on any new projects until he is discharged in September 2024. Considering the fact that makers wish to release a new season by 2024, it is likely that the actor will be replaced. Kang Tae-oh plays Lee Jun-ho, Attorney Woo's boyfriend and colleague in the K-drama.

Actor Kang Ki-young, playing Young-woo's superior attorney Jung Myung-seok, is going through a very sensitive journey in the ongoing season of the show. With him suffering from stomach cancer as revealed in Episode 14 of 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo', there is presently no certainty about his appearance in the second season. Fans are hoping that his character recovers by the end of this season so fans can see more of Attorney Jung Myung-seok in the sequel.

Actors Jeon Bae-soo as Young-woo's father Woo Gwang-ho and Jin Kyung as Young-woo's biological mother Tae Soo-mi can be expected to reprise their roles in the upcoming season. As there is more to the story of Soo-mi not knowing of Young-woo's existence until the second leg of the ongoing season, fans can expect Young-woo to establish some sort of a connection with her mother in the upcoming season.

Baek Ji-won as  Hanbada Law Firm's representative Attorney Han Seon-young can be expected to reprise her role for the upcoming season. Meanwhile, Joo Hyun-young as Young-woo's best friend Dong Geu-rami and her boss Im Sung-jae as Kim Min-shik aka Hairy can be expected to reprise their roles in the upcoming season.

Moreover, after the progression of Episodes 13 and 14, we are learning that Hanbada's Attorney Choi Soo-yeon (played by Ha Yoon-kyung) and Attorney Kwon Min-woo (played by Joo Jong-hyuk) have feelings for each other. It is expected that both Yoon-kyung and Jong-hyuk return in the second season of 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo'.
