NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'Euphoria' fans have to wait a little longer for the next season. On November 2, HBO announced that season 3 of the Zendaya-led teen drama will return to the screen in 2025, much to the dismay of the show's viewers.

The final episode of season 2 aired on February 27, 2022. Sam Levinson's series ended with a devastating cliffhanger where the character Ashtray, played by Javon Walton, is killed in a shootout.

Amid the news, some fans do not wish the series to continue as the actor Angus Cloud, 25, who portrayed the role of Fezco, died due to an accidental overdose in July.

Reason behind delay in 'Euphoria' Season 3

HBO boss Casey Bloys announced at the November 1 press conference that the show's next season is slated for 2025, reported People.

The series title was shown in a promotional video saying "Coming in 2025." Additional information regarding the upcoming season has not been disclosed.

The premiere is reported to have been delayed due to the WGA strike that began in May and the SAG-AFTRA strike that started in July. These strikes have brought Hollywood to a standstill for several months, impacting the production of various projects, including 'Euphoria.'

Besides the delayed production, the sudden death of Cloud has put the series into a dilemma as to how the makers will put his character Fezco in the third season or whether they will entirely remove the character from the show.

Fans unhappy with delay in 'Euphoria' Season 3

Three years is a long gap between the two seasons of a show, especially when the characters are high schoolers. Therefore, fans do not appreciate the extreme delay as they might fail to recognize the actors as teenagers.

Colman Domingo, Eric Dane, Zendaya, Sam Levinson, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Dominic Fike, Maude Apatow, Austin Abrams, and Angus Cloud attend HBO's

Many reacted to the news by saying canceling the show is a better option.

One user stated, "Even Zendaya had enough."

A user shared a meme asking, "Are they still gona be in high school? lol," while another one asked, "I wonder how the storyline is going to go."

Another user stated, "Atp dont release it anymore, shelve it."

A fifth user also said, "Just cancel the show at this point."

"Fez was the best part of this show. Just end it," said one fan.

One user mocked the creators by saying, "I'll be married and raising kids by then."

"They going to look 30 in high school or y'all going to bridge a huge gap with no, they magically graduated or left school," said another user.
