BRENTWOOD, CALIFORNIA: Judges' feedback is paramount to the 'American Idol' contestants. This season, unfortunately, in every other episode fans have witnessed something 'nasty' coming out of the judges' mouths and they are done with it.

On May 1, 'American Idol' aired LIVE as the Season 21 Top 10 performed songs chosen by the judges. Chayce Beckham, the Season 19 winner, sang his new single 'Til the Day I Die.' As the contestants fought for their lives in the competition, some, as usual, outperformed the judges' expectations." However, the judges' choice of words did not sit well with the fans, who are pleading with them to abandon their favorite phrase to describe a good performance.

'That was how you bring nasty to the table'

Zacharia Smith is a huge fan of Jon Bon Jovi. The voice instructor cautioned him that the song, 'Wanted Dead or Alive' will push him to the limit! He donned sunglasses as he approached the microphone, but suddenly removed them. On the high end, his voice sounded harsh. The cleanliness of his voice isn't crucial. His drive and ability to perform keep him competitive.

Zacharia predicted that Luke Bryan chose the song. However, Lionel Richie chose it! "The attitude was perfect…crazy good…nasty…fantastic job," Lionel added. "I thought you kept that nasty," Katy Perry remarked. "You are great." "It was amazing," Luke remarked. "I wanted you to pick my song!"

Wé Ani had just performed Etta James's 'Something's Got a Hold On Me' the night before and completely killed it. With a compelling stage presence and an even more enticing voice, she demonstrated the complete package. She used raspy growls and some unusual vocal squeals to create the ultimate rock vocal. The arrangement sounded like a current rock tune, yet her rasp and power recalled old 80s rock heroes. Despite the fact that she rocked out in Hawaii, the manner she handled this performance revealed a different side to her.

The judges were ecstatic as they stood after the performance. Luke attempted to energize the audience by waving his arms and making noise. Wé's mother was the loudest supporter in the audience. The first time Mom saw one of We's performances was the highlight of the evening. "That was how you bring nasty to the table," Lionel observed, adding, "That was a breakout performance right there." We, according to Katy, did not "come to play" and "you just turned this into a competition." Luke stated that he had never seen Katy make such a "nasty" expression after such a fantastic performance. "I've never heard this room get this loud," he continued.

'Enough with the nasty'

Fans on Reddit were very firm with their demand of not to hear the word 'nasty' again on the show. One wrote, "Enough with the “nasty,” Lionel." Another chimed in, "Stop with the nasty Lionel, pls." One pleaded with Lionel saying, "Ayo that nasty shit gotta go lionel lmao." One fan reminded them as they write, "Katy has said it too!!!" While a fourth added, "Don't say Nasty again Lionel, please." One fan also expressed, "It makes me so uncomfortable 😭 lol." Another person suggested, "I was getting tired of his “you are a stylist” there for a while. I’d take that any day over this latest thing." One fan quipped, "I’m now convinced that the judges have some kind of secret pact to see how many times they can say “nasty” on the air." One fan while cringing commented, "Every time they say nasty. 😖." A Redditor also commented, "I really wish everyone would stop saying "nasty" :(."

'American Idol' Season 21 airs every Sunday and Monday at 8 pm ET on ABC.
