Plot
According to the official synopsis for 'Emily in Paris': "Emily, an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago, unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company — and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy. Emily's new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances."
Cast
Lily Collins as Emily Cooper
Collins stars in the titular role of Emily, a young, driven woman from the Midwest who, after bagging a brand new job in Paris, is on her way to some of the biggest adventures of her life. The actress is known for her work in 'Priest', 'Mirror Mirror', 'Abduction' and 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones', a role for which she was nominated for the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie Actress - Action and an MTV Movie Award. She is perhaps best known for her work in 'Love, Rosie' alongside Sam Claflin. More recently, she played the role of serial killer Ted Bundy's girlfriend, Liz Kendall, in 'Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile', and as Edith, JRR Tolkien's wife, in 'Tolkien'.
Ashley Park as Mindy Chen
The singer-actress is best known for her work on Broadway as Tuptim in the 2015 revival of 'The King and I'. She played the role of Gretchen Wieners in the Tony-nominated musical 'Mean Girls', a performance for which she earned herself nominations for the Drama Desk Award and Tony Award.
Alongside Collins and Park, the upcoming Netflix series also stars Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Camille Razat, Bruno Gouery in main roles and Kate Walsh, William Abadie and Arnaud Viard in recurring roles.
Creators
The series has been created, written and executive produced by 'Sex and the City' creator Darren Star. He is also known for creating 'Beverly Hills 90210', 'Melrose Place' and 'Younger'. He served as the producer of 2008's 'Sex and the City: The Movie', and the sequel 'Sex and the City 2'. Collins also serves as the producer.
