'Emergence' Episode 9: Will Piper cure Ed's cancer as the mysterious new villain puts Evans family in danger

Alex (Donald Faison) certainly has had his reservations about having Piper living with his daughter, especially since none of them know the bounds of what Piper can do.

'Emergence' is soon coming to a long break with the mid-season finale of Season 1 and we are definitely going to miss seeing Jo (Allison Tolman) find different ways to serve justice while also trying to protect her family. Since the first time we met the Evanses, we have loved their positive energy, their compassion and their love for each other, which is also extended to Piper (Alexa Swinton) when she became a part of the family. Individually, and as a whole, the Evans family members have shown they care for her and that caring will be put to the ultimate test in the upcoming Season 1 Episode 9 of the ABC show. 

The episode aptly titled 'Where You Belong', will see the mysterious villain, who was introduced at the end of the previously aired Episode 8, and killed Alan (Seth Barrish), will be seen trying to capture Piper. She seems more dangerous than both Kindred (Terry O'Quinn) and Emily (Maria Dizzia) and can possibly be dubbed as the Big Bad of the series, at least of Season 1. According to the official synopsis for Episode 9, the new villain will put the entire Evans clan in danger and this is certainly something we are dreading.

Alex (Donald Faison) certainly has had his reservations about having Piper living with his daughter, especially since none of them know the bounds of what Piper can do. He too has come around in the later episodes, but we need to know how he will react to the new threats. These new developments will truly add more pain in the lives of the Evanses, who are all still reeling from Ed's (Clancy Brown) decision to not go back into cancer treatment. 

According to the episode, "Ed's presented with a cancer treatment that seems too good to be true." The upcoming episode, however, might see Piper offering a new way of curing Ed's cancer and it remains to be seen how open Ed is to the prospects of that. We will find out when Season 1 Episode 9 of 'Emergence', titled 'Where You Belong' airs on Tuesday, December 10.
