'Emergence' Episode 5: Here's why 'RDZ9021' won't air this Tuesday, and what you can watch on ABC instead

Thankfully, after the one-week gap, 'Emergence' returns to ABC on October 29, and what awaits us is one of the most exciting and ominous episodes of 'Emergence' yet.

We are pretty impatient about watching more of 'Emergence', especially as we just learned that the scared little girl with superhuman powers is a freaking AI! But, here we are moaning about the lack of a new episode this week, all thanks to Diane Sawyer. Instead of the regular programming that would have seen the airing of Season 1 Episode 5 of 'Emergence' titled 'RDZ9021' on Tuesday night at 10 pm (PST) on ABC, the network will air 'The Douglas Dynasty: Fame, Addiction, Recovery: A Diane Sawyer Special'.

The special, which marks Sawyer's first television interview with Cameron Douglas, wherein they will discuss his new memoir, 'Long Way Home' will last about an hour and touch upon everything from Cameron's life growing up in a Hollywood dynasty to a life of addiction that pulled him down a path to drug seizures, serial rehabs, crime and drug dealing, all of which led up to seven years in federal prison. As interesting and gripping as this interview promises to be, especially with Sawyer maneuvering it, we are looking forward to watching what happens next to Piper.

Thankfully, after the one-week gap, 'Emergence' returns to ABC on October 29, and what awaits us is one of the most exciting and ominous episodes of 'Emergence' yet. Piper (Alexa Swinton) is going to come face-to-face with Kindred (Terry O'Quinn), the man who thinks of her as his property. It is clear from the trailer that she has no idea who he is, but his sinister smile has certainly sent chills down her robotic spine.

Meanwhile, we are also concerned about Benny (Owain Yeoman) and his friend April (Ashlie Atkinson), who were on the receiving end of a bullet rain towards the end of Episode 4. We know for a fact that Benny is alive, but we sure are concerned about April who wanted to wash her hands off this case. She is too awesome a character for her role to be so skeletal, and especially to be killed off this unceremoniously.

We hope to see both Benny and April back in action when ABC airs 'Emergence' on Tuesday, October 29.
