'Producer's a friend': Eagle-eyed 'Sister Wives' viewers speculate if TLC's secretly protecting Kody Brown
FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA: The apparent lack of opposition to polygamy from TLC, along with their alleged failure to pose probing questions to Kody Brown, has led internet users to question whether the production company is secretly "protecting" Kody and his sole wife, Robyn Brown.
Reddit discussions on the topic have criticized the streaming platform for overlooking Kody's perceived favoritism, and some have even suggested that the 'Sister Wives' couple holds significant control over the show.
A user started the thread, questioning, "TLC protects k & r?" He further went on to explain, "I have seen multiple comments mentioning that tlc protected Kody and Robyn. They are never asked hard-hitting questions on the tell-all, they are hardly ever filmed in their house."
The user went on to slam TLC, "Up until this season Robyn’s tension with other sister wives and kody’sKody Brown was ignored and never broadcast."
The user questioned TLC, "I could go on and on. it feels like tlc was trying rlly hard to paint them as the good guys until recently. my only question is why?"
He added, "Why do they seem to be almost “in charge” of the show. why do people suspect that they have such “close ties” to TLC."
To this, another commented, "The show's producer is a friend and actual neighbor." One speculated, "I think the Production of the show is protecting them. Specifically, the producer that is their neighbor/friend. I wonder if he's a polygamist or has/had strong ties to polygamy or anything like that."
A user suspected, "I suspect that Kody, for years was in charge of the contract. Now that each of the OG wives have their own contracts, things may change."
Meri Brown reveals being accused of 'faking relationship' by Kody Brown
In the recently released episode of 'Sister Wives' Season 18, viewers witnessed Meri revealing how Kody stopped visiting her on her birthdays and even on their anniversary.
Keeping the estranged relationship aside, Meri revealed calling Kody and saying, "Hey, we should go out," after she reminded him of their anniversary. Kody eventually agreed to go out with her, but they allegedly had a bland conversation.
She then revealed being called out by Kody for "faking her relationship." She said, "We were sitting across the table and he kind of gestured with his finger, you know, like between the two of us."
Being shocked by the accusations, Meri said to Kody, "What do you mean? I'm not faking anything."
