The review contains spoilers for 'Dynasty' Season 3 Episode 1 — 'Guilt Trip to Alaska'.

Every family sweeps their secrets under the rug but the Carrington family keeps their secrets under wraps with corpses in the lake. On the eve of the Carrington Foundation Fundraiser, drama immediately floods the scene as bodies are pulled from the lake on the Carrington Estate.  As reporters and detectives move in, Blake (Grant Show), Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies), Cristal (Daniella Alonso), Adam (Sam Underwood), and Anders (Alan Dale) realize they need to get their stories straight very quickly.

Fallon makes a fuss about the sudden set of consequences that her family has to face, including the fact that her fiancé Liam Ridley (Adam Huber) fell into the pool and barely survived. But Blake sums up their tangled situation by telling her: "I know you had a bad day. We all did."

As the episode proceeds, Dominique Deveraux (Michael Michele) looks for her missing son, while Michael Culhane (Robert Christopher Riley) is sent behind bars where he tries to prove he’s been framed by the Carringtons. Meanwhile, Sam (Rafael De La Fuente) comforts both Fallon and Kirby Anders (Maddison Brown) as he continues to work on the hotel.

Fallon, however, cannot see things straight. She is tormented and troubled by her high school friend Trixie’s (Jessi Goei) death and sees her ghost in Liam's hospital room. To ease her conscience, she decides to visit Trixie’s mother, who has a panic attack at just the sight of the girl she holds responsible for her daughter’s death. When that plan fails, she makes another move and announces a Carrington-funded scholarship in Trixie’s name. However, even that plan hits the skids and she has no other option but to tell the police that the other body, Mac, is responsible for Trixie's death.

There is another twist in the tale as Anders tells Blake he wishes to leave the Carrington family. Towards the end, there is a big shocker as the cops come to arrest Blake Carrington for Mac's murder. How are things going to unfold if Blake ends up in jail? Moreover, Fallon's fiancé Liam wakes up but only with amnesia. He doesn't even remember being engaged to Fallon.

Written by Josh Reims and directed by Michael Allowitz, the episode starts on a suspenseful note and only leaves viewers with more questions. The premiere also brings a new face for Cristal, Blake's girlfriend as Daniella Alonso steps into the shoes of the character. She is the third one to take on the role after Ana Brenda Contreras and Nathalie Kelley.
