LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sam Champion is thrilled to have survived 'Dancing With The Stars' last week, as he hits the floor this week with partner Cheryl Burke to perform a Viennese Waltz. As the weatherman improves on his Week 2 score, fans believe his partner had to compensate heavily on stage for him.

Cheryl juggles being Sam's buddy and his dancing mom. Despite having another Elvis song, "Heartbreak Hotel," many think the Viennese waltz was a decent routine for him to get into. Even though Sam fared really well, definitely an improvement over last week, viewers believed it could’ve been refined a bit. However, the music selection worked out well since the weatherman appeared to be in his element.

"Dance mom Cheryl" has been difficult for Sam Champions, but it has paid off with excellent compliments from the judges. Judge Bruno Tonioli liked the rotation and believed he looked like a leading guy. Judge Carrie Ann Inaba said his confidence was strong, and his posture was excellent. Judge Len Goodman said he was more confident than the previous week, but he has to retain his head to the left in hold. Judge Derek Hough believed he swayed his arm a bit too much, but he saw how much effort Cheryl made into helping Sam grow. The duo scored 26 out of 40.

Viewers, like the judges, could see Cheryl's efforts to make Sam look good as they rushed to social media to voice their impressions following the performance. Criticising Sam's performance, a viewer wrote: "Sam Champion did alright. You could tell Cheryl did her best to compensate for what he may have had trouble with. Sam might not win but he's a joy to watch. #DWTS." Another viewer added how the pro dancer had to take over for the contestant: "I'm sorry Sam but Cheryl CARRIED that dance. #DWTS." Stunned at seeing Sam get a decent score from the judges, a viewer claims it to be a publicity stunt if he makes another week: "Sam should have gone home last week. If he survives this week, it’s 100% a bizarre publicity stunt. #dwts." However, one fan felt Cheryl may not have been coming up with solid choreo as compared to other pro dancers on the show: "I like Sam Champion well enough, and I actually like Cheryl just fine too. But I find her choreography is not measuring up to a lot of the other pros, particularly the women. #DWTS31."

Cheryl fans banded together for Sam's elimination as they feel the weatheman is holding her back: "Totally agree. I love watching Cheryl dance so it sucks that she's got someone who needs a lot of work and while I want her to do well, Sam's got to go! #DWTS31."
