‘Dr Pimple Popper’: Aubrey's painful bumps on body ooze cheese fondue-like liquid, can Dr Sandra Lee help?
On the January 18 episode of ‘Dr Pimple Popper’ on TLC, Dr Sandra Lee will be treating three patients whose skin condition is alarmingly strange. First up we have Audrey who has clusters of growth, especially around her neck, shoulders, arm pits, chest and groin area.
The bumps are very painful and the 47-year-old describes it as “imagine your worst pimple and then multiply it by 100". The only way she could relieve herself from some of that pain was by popping her own pimples. She said it took away the immediate pain. Audrey has three daughters and her elders daughters just gave birth.
Audrey has been to 20 dermatologists to get rid of her bumps but they keep coming back every time. She said her only ray of hope was Dr Sandra Lee.
Aubrey also had a kidney transplant and chrome disease, so she was on lots of heavy duty medication. Dr Lee was concerned if she could perform any surgery on her, given her weak immune system. She decided she would start the popping and see how it goes. Dr Lee was careful about not going overboard with the popping and worked on only some bumps on her neck. Dr Lee said the golden liquid that oozed out looked like the cheese fondue that her mother-in-law makes. Delicious?
Dr Lee asked her to come back another day for the rest of her bumps. She removed at least 20 bumps from her body that bothered her the most.
How to fight signs of ageing?
On her official website, Dr Lee has shared a few tips to fight signs of aging. She writes, “There is a common theme with all skincare goals - never drop the ball on washing your face morning and night! Here are some more ways to take care of your skin:
Regularly exfoliate with toner pads (resurfacing acne swipes)
Use a retinoid to maintain a healthy level of skin cell turnover (retinol serum)
Make sun protection a priority. UV rays damage the skin even when it’s not evident in the form of a sunburn (UV bounce / daily moisturizer with SPF 15)
If some damage has been done and you have dark spot, use a dark spot correcting gel made with hydroquinone, what dermatologists consider to be the gold standard for improving pigmentation (dark spot fix).
Take all of these tips in and take action so you can feel the best in your skin in 2021. Catch new episodes of 'Dr Pimple Popper’ on Mondays at 9 pm ET/PT.
