In case you missed it, the final episode of 'Fallout' Season 2 absolutely sneaks in a post-credits moment. After the first wave of credits rolls by, the series pulls viewers right back into a corner of the story that had been absent for a few episodes: The Brotherhood. The last time the show checked in with them was earlier in the season, when everything spiraled into a mess. Maximus, Thaddeus, and Dane triggered internal warfare across the Brotherhood's scattered chapters, using confusion and violence as cover to pull off a dangerous theft. The Cold Fusion diode, a powerful device, was smuggled away. Maximus and Thaddeus escaped with it. Dane stayed behind.

The post-credits scene opens after the dust has settled at Maximus' former Brotherhood base. The fight is over, but it clearly wasn't clean. Among the wreckage, one piece of good news emerges. Dane made it. They soon find themselves face-to-face with Elder Quintus, a man who should probably be dead but very much isn't. Maximus didn't finish him off earlier in the season. This meeting isn't friendly, and it isn't casual either. Dane has brought something Quintus specifically asked for. Something called the "remnants." At first, the word doesn't mean much. Then the camera slowly pulls back, and the truth clicks into place.

These remnants are plans. Blueprints. They belong to Liberty Prime Alpha, according to Nerdist. Quintus doesn't bother hiding what this means for him or the Brotherhood. He admits that, "[he] wanted the Brotherhood to unite out of the virtue of [his] heart, but now Quintus the Unifier is dead and Quintus the Destroyer is born." That's where Liberty Prime Alpha enters the picture as a potential nightmare waiting to be powered on. For longtime fans of the 'Fallout' universe, the name Liberty Prime carries weight. It's a towering combat machine designed by the United States government before the bombs fell. Built as an answer to Cold War paranoia, the robot was meant to be unstoppable.

There was only one problem. It needed more power than anyone could reliably provide. In the games, Liberty Prime eventually found its moment. In 'Fallout 3', the Brotherhood managed to activate the massive machine and send it into battle against the Enclave, only for it to be destroyed. Years later, in 'Fallout 4', the robot was rebuilt again and unleashed on a new enemy, The Institute, before being sidelined once more. Even when functioning, Liberty Prime was never easy to keep running. Liberty Prime Alpha, however, is something new. Or at least, a variation on an old terror.

The show doesn't spell out exactly how different this version might be, but the implication is clear. Quintus believes he can finish what others couldn't. The Cold Fusion diode was always the missing piece. A long-term power solution. But at the moment Quintus studies those plans, that device is gone, stolen during the Brotherhood's collapse. The irony hangs in the air. He has the vision. He has the blueprints. He doesn't have the fuel. That doesn't mean he won't try to get it back. Showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet offered a chilling tease about what Liberty Prime Alpha could mean going forward.

She explained, "Quintus tried a Civil War in order to gain power. Nothing will stop this man. Liberty Prime Alpha is one of the most powerful weapons in the Wasteland. What would he be willing to do with it in order to empower himself further and guarantee his own success? I'm scared to think about it, and I hope viewers are as well." Thankfully, fans won't be left hanging forever. Amazon renewed 'Fallout' for Season 3 well before Season 2 wrapped up. As per Polygon, it was confirmed in May 2025 that the story would continue.
