Almost two decades ago in 2002, Michael Chiklis wowed audiences with his role of Vic Mackey on FX's series 'The Shield'. The highly acclaimed crime drama went on to run for seven seasons and won him not only audiences' hearts but also accolades – the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2002. His antihero character remained a favorite of fans of crime dramas for years. Now, Chiklis is returning with the same genre but in a brand new avatar in 'Coyote'. This time, he is on the other side of the law.

Created by 'American Gods' EP David Graziano, first impressions of 'Coyote' immediately interest you. Starring a largely Latinx cast, it focuses on immigration. But we're more excited to watch Chiklis play the role of Ben Clemens, a border patrol agent who is forced to work for the people he spent his career trying to keep out of America. The actor's impressive credit list is proof enough that 'Coyote' will go above and beyond.

Chiklis, who is also known for playing Ben Grimm/ The Thing on the 'Fantastic Four' franchise and Slade Wilson/ Deathstroke on 'Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons', has a long list of acting credits. But there is something that even his most ardent of viewers might not know. Or if you have only just switched on to watch 'Coyote', this fact about Michael Chiklis will impress you even further.

Did you know that once upon a time, Michael Chiklis played in a band?

An accomplished musician, Chiklis specializes in drums and vocals but also playing guitar and bass. He is a member of several performing bands in the Boston area such as The Surgeon General, Best Kept Secret, and Double Talk. In 2011, Chiklis and his band MCB released their first single 'Til I Come Home', which was a tribute song inspired by Armed Forces currently serving in Afghanistan and elsewhere. The song went on to become critically acclaimed worldwide and was used in the TV series 'Modern Family' in 2011.

Chiklis also has a solo album to his name. In September 2016, he released his first solo album, 'INFLUENCE', which he wrote and produced at his own Extravaganza Music Studio.

You can watch all six episodes of Season 1 of 'Coyote' beginning streaming on January 7, 2021, Thursday, on CBS All Access.
