'Disenchantment' part 2 sees Bean go to hell to look for Elfo, but will she find her answers there?
Spoilers ahead for the first part of the first season of 'Disenchantment'
At the end of season 1 part 1 of 'Disenchantment', the kingdom of Dreamland was turned to stone - from the carriage horses and the citizens of Dreamland to the court officials of King Zog's (John DiMaggio) court - everyone was frozen in stone. King Zog even lost the only thing that proves he is king - considering how there isn't much that could prove this in the first place anyway - his throne. The crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland was taken hostage by some kind of dark magic that we are yet to be told more about.
But part 1 of season 1 also saw the beloved elf Elfo (Nat Faxon) die in the name of Bean's (Abbi Jacobson) mother Queen Dagmar (Sharon Horgan). It was at that point itself that we had predicted this isn't going to go well. When news of the part 2 coming to Netflix started going around, we were only hoping that the character wasn't killed off completely in season 1 itself. And now that a clip released by the streaming service features Elfo literally chilling in heaven and wondering why he wasted all that time being alive.
In part 2 of season 1, it looks like Bean will do anything and everything possible to bring him back to life. It was actually the friendly demon Luci's (Eric Andre) idea to take this trip to hell, he says he knows a way to bring Elfo back. And so the duo embarks on what we hope is not another one of their misadventures.
When 'Disenchantment' first aired, it took audiences on the wild journey of adventures and (more) misadventures that Abbi Jacobson's Bean embarks on. The story expands from there to make substantial character developments through the first season itself.
The series also features Billy West as Sorcerio, Maurice LaMarche as Odval, Tress MacNeille as Queen Oona, Matt Berry as Prince Merkimer, Jeny Batten as Kissy the Elf, Rich Fulcher as Cloyd, Noel Fielding as Stan the Executioner, and Lucy Montgomery as Bunty.
'Disenchantment' is set to return to Netflix on September 20, 2019.
