Did Le Sserafim’s Garam mock Sakura's 'nose job'? Fans say: ‘I would slap her’

Rumors have been circulating that Sakura got a nose job as fans compared how she looked during her time in IZ*ONE with Le Sserafim teasers

Korean fans and the general public dropped Le Sseafim’s Kim Garam after rumors of her being a school bully started doing rounds. The accusers continued to post screenshots that were in tangent with the bullying claims. In the latest rumor, a school violence committee document was leaked that listed Garam as a bully. The school responded that they could not comment on it, while HYBE simply reiterated their first statement that Garam was innocent and they would take legal action. 

The label had also shared that the incidents were exaggerated as some did take place, excluding the bullying aspect since Garam was simply trying to make friends in school. HYBE also said that the Le Sserafim member was a victim. But with the school and the label not simply stating that the leaked document was fake and Garam’s latest interaction with member Sakura has fans divided. An interaction while Le Sserafim was recording for Studio Choom has now gone viral.

Garam talks about Sakura’s nose

Sakura looked quite different when she debuted with her previous K-pop group IZ*ONE in 2018. And so when she joined Le Sserafim, her nose looked different to many. While some said that it was the lighting, makeup, or loss of baby fat, others claimed she got a nose job done. Some fans even felt that she had gotten fillers in her cheeks. And while there has been no negative reaction to Sakura’s alleged nose job, Garam’s response to it has many angry at her. In the initial bullying claims that Garam's accusers had made, they had said that she had called Sakura a "plastic monster", hinting at her alleged plastic surgery.

Well, in the clip that is making the rounds now, Garam and Sakura are seen talking in a vlog that was filmed for their appearance on 'Studio Choom'. In it, Garam has to compliment Sakura without laughing and she says, “Pretty nose.” The latter simply said, “Wow, thanks.” It is followed by a second of silence as Sakura stares at Garam without smiling who looks her up and down before laughing, while Sakura surprisingly asks, “Why?” Knetizens, who already have a negative impression of Garam, were furious at the interaction as they felt that Garam intentionally complimented Sakura’s nose to mock her.

‘Why is she laughing?’

One Knetz wrote that even if Garam was not a bully, the interaction was problematic since it is a well-known rumor that Sakura might have done a nose job, “The main issue here isn't her being a bullyㅋㅋ It's how she looks her up and down like your typical iljin [rich bullies] ㅋㅋㅋ Garam-ah, stop pissing us off and get out.” Another posted, “She probably knows Sakura got nose surgery so she looked her up and down to embarrass her... doesn't seem to be evil editing either.” One added, “Why is she laughing at Sakura's face like that? If I was Sakura, I'd be pissed.”

Even international fans found Garam’s stare suspicious as one said, “I didnt get it and then i read her calling sakura a plastic monster before this becoz sakura got a nose job n then rewatched n then ohh... did i see that up n down look....” Another fan was angry, “Nah cause she looked at her nose then burst out laughing girl needs to sthu.” One fan joked, “The fact that they’re in the same room in the dorms too sakura is gonna wake up like this one day.” Another added, “I would slap her if she laugh at me like that.”

However, some fans felt that it wasn’t that serious, “I'm not taking anyone's side here but it's actually funny how kpopies join to a hate train bcs 😭 there's nothing bad in this video?!? at least be serious if you want to hate someone guys this is a game where both of them have to be serious without laughing cmon be serious.” Another fan said, “That "plastic monster" rumor is not even true. It the same with the "sse trainee" that was only made in pann. The way the nonfans always complicate things when we didn't even talk about this. You're only making the situation worse by getting clout with the current issue. Pathetic.”
