LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kandi Burruss and her husband, Todd Tucker, have recently broken their silence regarding the ongoing rumors and speculation surrounding their potential divorce. After much speculation and anticipation, the couple has decided to address the issue and provide clarity on the matter.
During a recent interview with US Weekly, 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' pair opened up about their divorce speculations, which was initially brought to their attention by her 21-year-old daughter Riley, who Kandi shares with her former partner Russell Spencer.
“Riley actually sent it to me. She was like, ‘Why do people keep saying that y’all about to get divorced?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know,'” Kandi told the media outlet.
Then, the Bravo star talked about a theory what may have caused the divorce speculation and added, “I think it came from Todd and I on his YouTube. We were doing this thing called Todd and the Glam Squad where I would get my hair and makeup done [and] he would sit and we would talk about hot topics or relationship issues.”
Speaking of their collaboration, Todd Tucker mentioned that he and Burruss have realized that they are skilled at debating topics, leading them to question if viewers can distinguish between their everyday conversations and real issues in their marriage.
“We’re passionate when we go back and forth. I think people kind of mistook that to say we were angry with each other. But we’re [just] debating the topic. We’re going back and forth about this. I’ve been like that my whole life. As soon as we have a back and-forth, I can walk out the room and be like, ‘OK, now what are we doing next?’ Whereas I guess to somebody that’s watching it, they are thinking that it’s more than that," Kandi explained.
Todd chimed in, "They’re analyzing [it like], ‘Wow, he said this.’ Or his posture.’ You know how they do. But it was just a good, fun conversation and people just took it wrong. I was like, ‘We are with each other every day.’ It’s not like, ‘I haven’t seen him together. His ring isn’t on or something.'”

During the same interview, Kandi who shares son Ace and daughter Blaze with her husband Todd also stated that she frequently chooses not to wear her ring.
“Today I do. But they’ll be like, ‘Why doesn’t she have on her ring?’ I hardly ever have it on," she told the publication.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star said, "He always has his on. If he doesn’t have it on — then it’s going to be a problem. That’s going to be a problem.”
The two of them make a conscious effort to not let outside opinions and rumors affect their relationship. Despite their efforts, Todd admitted that it can be challenging to ignore the constant chatter and gossip surrounding their personal lives.
“It is tough. You’re always on stage and you can’t really kind of relax out in public. But for me, I think from doing reality TV early on with her, I really don’t pay it any more. We know what’s going on," he explained.

Todd and Kandi's relationship began when they met on the set of 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta.'Todd was a production manager for the show in 2011 and they first connected during a cast trip to South Africa.
During a 2014 interview with Bravo, Todd recalled, "I was trying to play it cool in Africa as it's against the rules to cross the line with the talent. In Production that's a big NO NO! … I loved her smile, she had a great butt! LOL! She seemed very humble and genuine."
In a 2016 Facebook post, Kandi reminisced about the couple's initial encounter, which took place on the second to last day of their trip.
“I was in Africa with RHOA & the African medicine man was reading my cast mates’ & my future. He predicted that I would get married soon & he said my husband was with me at that moment. Of course I was thinking he didn't know what the hell he was talking about," she wrote.
She further added, "The crazy thing is that Todd was there! He was watching the scene with the rest of the crew. At that time I had saw him maybe once but had never spoke or had a conversation with him. The very next day was Todd's birthday August 4th & we spoke for the very first time & never stopped. Tomorrow will be our 2 year anniversary! Not sure how the African Medicine man was able to predict my future but he was right.”
The pair tied the knot in the year 2014.

Kandi Burruss and Todd suggest that the key to a prosperous and fulfilling marital relationship lies in the ability of both partners to collaborate and cooperate with each other.
“He’s a better communicator than I am. I’m one of those people where if I get in a mood, I kind of shut down," Kandi said.
She added, "I don’t want to talk until I’ve completely calmed down because I’m afraid I’ll say something that I didn’t want to say and it comes off harsh. But he likes to communicate and get it all out. He really helps us get through it because we have to talk through it.”
On the other hand, Todd Tucker detailed, “What I try to do, I try to reverse things and put myself in her shoes. … It’s a lot of work. It’s a lot of work. But the thing is it’s fun and 10 years went by so fast. It could have been a long 10 years, but it has been an amazing ride.”
