GRENADA, CARIBBEAN: Bravo star Ben Willoughby was speculated to be fired from 'Below Deck' Season 11 after Captain Kerry Titheradge made shocking claims and questioned his work ethic. Captain Kerry recently said that Ben 'may not make the whole season'. However, Ben took to his social media to call out Captain Kerry and debunk his 'false' claims.
Ben issued an official statement after Captain Kerry's firing claims and said, "It is very unfortunate that Captain Kerry decided to speak out regarding my role as Bosun on this current season of Below Deck and eluding that I "may not make the whole season" but everyone will see as the episodes comes out." The Bravo star shared his disappointment over Captain Kerry's false claim which could harm his reputation.
The Lead Deckhand added, "With all due respect to Captain Kerry, I'm disappointed that he appears to be insinuating a false claim on my work ethic and career, which could gravely damage my reputation and character in an industry that I have worked hard in and grown in for 5 + years now." Ben's statement comes after Captain Kerry teased his possible exit from the Bravo show.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Captain Kerry revealed that Ben wasn't his first choice for bosun "but he does know the boat well." The new Captain further shared that he had no choice but to give him a chance because Ben knew the boat better than him. He added, "At the time, I needed the right skill set for the job, and that's what he had."
Captain Kerry had "a lot of faith" in Ben to do that job but he didn’t live up to his expectations and made him question if he deserved the promotion. He further noted, "He came quite close to things not being very good for him. And he may not make the whole season."
