'Dickinson' Season 2 Spoilers: When will Episodes 1, 2 and 3 air? Here's how poet Emily deals with new fame
'Dickinson' starring Hailee Steinfeld portrays the poet as more than a daughter — a rebel, as she paves her own way to become the world's greatest poet. What she didn't count on is that fame isn't as easy to deal with. Season 2 of the highly anticipated Apple TV+ series premieres on January 8, and fans are in for a ride as the official trailer promises a conundrum-filled thrilling season.
The historical comedy-drama first premiered on November 1, 2019, and the second season was ordered in October 2019. Even more good news is that a third season was ordered in October 2020, even before the release of this season. Let's see what Season 2 has in store for us since the first three episodes drop at once!
When will the first three episodes air?
The first three episodes of 'Dickinson' Season 2 premiere on Friday, January 8, on Apple TV+ with new episodes every Friday thereafter. The episodes are titled: Episode 1 'Before I Got My Eye Put Out', Episode 2 'Fame Is A Fickle Food', and Episode 3 'The Only Ghost I Ever Saw'.
The official Apple TV+ synopsis for Season 2 reads, "Emily Dickinson is pulled out of her private literary life and thrust into the public eye while struggling with the sense that the pursuit of fame might be a dangerous game for her to play." The season is slated for 10 joyous episodes. Watch the official trailer for the upcoming season below.
What to expect from 'Dickinson' Season 2?
According to creator Alena Smith, the new season will see how main character Emily Dickinson played by the talented Hailee Steinfeld will face her newly found fame.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Smith said, "Season 1 gives one answer, which is it was patriarchy and her father was opposed to women publishing. Season 2 is going to completely turn that on its head or inside out and give a very different answer, which is that Emily herself had a deeply ambivalent relationship to fame."
"Season 2 is really all about fame and the attention economy, which was a central concern in Emily Dickinson's poems. She wrote many, many poems about fame and about running from fame or rejecting fame. But she definitely had an obsession about fame even if she was subverting it," she added.
