Plot
The series revolves around Elena, a middle-schooler navigating the ups and downs of her academic life with the help of family and a friend, while on her journey to become the future President of the United States of America, all the while documenting the pivotal events in her trusty diary. Similar to Season 1, the sophomore run of the show will also consist of 10 episodes.
Cast
Tess Romero
Tess Romero is an actress, known for Blindspot (2015), Anya (2019) and Such Is Life (2020). She plays the central character of Elena Canero-Reed in the series.
Gina Rodriguez
Rodriguez is famous for winning everyone's hearts with the portrayal of the titular character on the widely popular telenovela, 'Jane The Virgin'. She plays an adult Elena in the series and appears in a recurring guest role.
Selenis Leyva
You might know Selenis for portraying the character of Gloria Mendoza on all 7 seasons of Netflix's hard-hitting prison drama 'Orange Is The New Black'. She plays the character of Elena's mother, Gabi, in the series. She's also the author of a memoir that she penned along with her sister Marizol, titled 'My Sister: How One Sibling's Transition Changed Us Both'.
Michael Weaver and Charlie Bushnell
Weaver plays the role of Sam Faber, someone who works at the same law firm as Gabi and the two develop a relationship. Bushnell plays Elena's younger brother in the series and this is his first acting job.
Showrunners
Ilana Pena and Keith Heisler serve as co-showrunners of the series. Gina Rodriguez doubles up as an Executive Producer on the show.
