After its very first two episodes, creator Alex Garland's latest project 'Devs' has managed to establish its dark, surrealistic feel of the story, keeping us hooked for what’s coming next. And the next is now already here.

Episode one was all about Sergei’s disappearance, and the beginning of Lily's hunt which leads her to discover her dead body. Then, we see Lily (Sonoya Mizuno)  digging deeper into Sergei's disappearance. Finally, she lands the help of her ex-boyfriend Jamie to investigate.

As the two begin to discover sensitive and compromising information on Sergei, Lily starts to question her trust about the man she has been with and if at all she knew him well enough.

And now, things start to get trickier for her. Sergei’s colleagues mention him being schizophrenic, which could have possibly led him to light himself on fire. Of course, Lily doesn’t believe them.

From the preview, we understand that Lily will disclose some critical information to the Amaya management about Sergei, stating that he was a spy.

This might not be completely impossible, knowing Sergei is from Russia and has been living only for a few years in the United States. As clichéd as it may sound, it could also be a solid, convincing cover for a bigger cause, which we are yet to find out.

In the promo, we also see that Lily starts to talk to Jen and Anya and tries to explain whatever she knows or has discovered. Then for a brief moment, we see her standing on the ledge of the building, contemplating whether to jump or not.

Her state of mind, as shown in the clip, is heavily unstable. However, we also have a theory that Lily might be taking her investigation to another level and trying to find out about the Devs program, as well as Sergei’s involvement in the same. Hence, telling the management that Sergei was a spy might make them talk a little more than they already are.

Elsewhere, Senator Laine visits Forest and questions him about Devs. So, in short, Episode 3 will reveal more about the secretive program of Amaya, which could lead us to learn more about the objective of the same.

There were a also lot of questions in the pilot episode, some of which still remain unanswered. For instance, the background of Sergei and Lily, especially Sergei, and also of Forest and how they came about together.

Take a peek into what's coming next and how Lily continues her search for Sergei's killer or the reason behind his freaky death, for that matter.

'Devs' streams on FX on Hulu, every Thursday 12 am.
