Who is Demi Lovato dating now? Cody Linley and Joe Jonas to Max Ehrich, a look at the singer's romantic past
Demi Lovato may be used to 'Dancing with the Devil' but finding the perfect partner to be in step with in real life has proved to be quite a challenge for the singer. Lovato seemed to finally be in a secure place personally when she announced her engagement to actor Max Ehrich in 2020 but sadly that wasn't meant to be and the engagement was called off.
She is single currently and fans are hoping to get to know more about her affairs of the heart in the documentary 'Dancing with the Devil', which will premiere on March 23 on YouTube.
Lovato's romantic past has included relationships with several youth icons including Wilmer Valderrama and Joe Jonas among others. But as cliched as it seems to say, the relationship Lovato seems to have struggled with the most has been the one with herself. Battling mental health and addiction struggles, here's a look at the partners in the singer's life who have been with her through her most trying and most triumphant times.

One of the first high-profile relationships Lovato had was with 'Hannah Montana' heartthrob Cody Linley. The two dated way back in 2008. Linley described their first date as "the most up and down night of my life” after his car broke down several times over the course of the evening. But clearly, Lovato still liked him, broken down car and all, since they continued to date for a short while after.
There couldn't be a starker difference between clean-cut Cody Linley and Lovato's next boyfriend edgy Alex DeLeon at least on the surface. Demi dated 'The Cab' vocalist DeLeon for a year and reportedly even wrote her song 'Catch Me' about him.
Lovato continued with what seemed to be a penchant for edgy musicians at the time and dated Trace Cyrus (yes he's Miley's brother) for several months. However, it seems that it was finally conflicting schedules, rather than any dramatic reason that led to their breakup. Cyrus later said in an interview to 'People', “We gave it a shot, and that’s all you can do.”
Lovato then found love on a film set with Joe Jonas. The two were working on the film 'Camp Rock' but it was only during 'Camp Rock 2' that Lovato confirmed that she and Joe Jonas were dating. The two even appeared on the cover of 'Teen Vogue' together. Just two days after the cover came out, they confirmed that they had broken up. However, the split was quite amicable and the two still remain good friends.
Lovato then entered her longest relationship, well, at least till this point, with actor Wilmer Valderrama. Their 13-year age gap didn't hinder their romance and Valderrama soon became a pillar of support for Lovato. This was in spite of others warning him against getting involved with the singer. People apparently told Valderrama to get out of the relationship since she was in a downward spiral. However, he stood by her for six years until they parted ways in 2016.
Demi's next relationship with UFC fighter Luke Rockhold didn't seem to have much of a fighting chance. The pair started dating in August 2016 but never seemed very serious and parted ways by December 2016.
Lovato seemed to have been in a fighting frame of mind because her next relationship was with MMA fighter Guilherme “Bomba” Vasconcelos. However, this was an extremely casual relationship, which never went beyond a few dates.
From fighters to fashion was the next step in Lovato's dating history. The singer then went on to date fashion designer Henry Levy. While they made their relationship Instagram official, their relationship only lasted for four months and they split ways in May 2019.
Lovato got her dose of Reality TV in real life when she dated 'The Bachelorette' contestant Mike Johnson. While Lovato and Johnson went on a few dates, things started to fizzle out when the reality TV star began sharing too much about their relationship in interviews.
After Mike Johnson, Lovato began dating model Austin Wilson in November 2019. The relationship lasted for a mere month. However, Lovato urged her followers on social media, “Please don’t go after him. He’s a good guy. Breakups are hard for both parties involved. Just stay nice and say prayers.”
Finally, after all that searching, it seemed that Lovato had found her happily ever after. She began dating 'The Young and the Restless' star Max Ehrich in early 2020 but confirmed their relationship only at the end of March.
In July, they announced their engagement and Demi seemed on top of the world saying, “I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself.”
However, the engagement was called off in September and it seemed that it took Ehrich as much by surprise as everyone else. Apparently, he found out about the breakup through a tabloid. Since then Ehrich has publicly pleaded with Lovato to speak to him, but he claims they still haven't spoken about their breakup in person.
Following her split from Max Ehrich, Demi has remained single. You can catch the documentary on Demi's fascinating professional and personal life on 'Dancing with the Devil' on Youtube on March 23. Watch the trailer below.
