'Deadpool & Wolverine' Ending Explained: Does Cassandra Nova destroy the multiverse?

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Deadpool & Wolverine' released in theaters on July 26, 2024. The superhero film is an extraordinary addition to the staggering Marvel universe as the two superheroes go on a thrill-a-minute ride of epic proportions.
As the film hilariously progresses, the plot of the film centers around Cassandra Nova's (Emma Corrin) intentions of destroying the multiverse using a Time ripper from the Time Variance Authority or TVA.
Mr Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen) who appears in the film explains to both the superheroes Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) that the Time Ripper can be destroyed only by harnessing matter and anti-matter together as the Time Ripper works by combining both sources. Can they do it? Here's what happens at the end of the film.
Deadpool and Wolverine save the Multiverse together
While the Time Ripper can be stopped, it would mean that either Deadpool or Wolverine will have to blast themselves off with the Time Ripper and one character might have to take the fall for it according to Mr Paradox.
Both Deadpool and Wolverine are willing to sacrifice themselves and argue about who will be the one to endure the blast. Deadpool is the one who comes out victorious in this duel albeit by deceiving Wolverine.
He goes to stop the Time Ripper but he is unable to do so alone as he cannot reach both sides together. This is when Wolverine steps in and they combine their powers and take the blast together.
It turns out that their combined strength is good enough to overpower the Time Ripper's strength and they come up trumps against all odds.
Cassandra's threat ends in this universe
As we saw in this film, you can never rule out the appearance of a character in the MCU in another movie, it seems that her character is gone from this universe at least as she atomizes when the machine is destroyed.
Mr Paradox is arrested by B-15 at the end of the film. His role dwindled from being an antagonist to someone who had a confrontation with Cassandra and he might return in another film later.
Deadpool and Wolverine both survive the blast and now have to look at their future in the universe.
Deadpool and Wolverine could appear in the 'Avengers' movies
Deadpool finally reconciles with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) after confessing to her about still having feelings for her and they hold hands at the end of the film. It can be argued that there is no Deadpool without Vanessa and their getting back together could see Deadpool getting his motivation back.
Wolverine seems to be home in the Earth-10005 universe now and seems to have moved on from his past trauma. There is still suspense over Hugh Jackman playing the character in the future though.
Now that Deadpool and Wolverine are allies of the TVA and firmly in the MCU, it could be likely that they appear in the coming films like the upcoming 'Avengers' movies
