Contains spoilers for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Deadpool & Wolverine' released on July 26, 2024, in theatres, and the Marvel film is an epic exhibition of exciting action and rib-tickling comedy as Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds take over the mantle of playing the iconic characters of Wolverine and Deadpool with their trademark aura.
While the two main characters are the backbone of the movie, it features many cameos that have become a staple for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 'Deadpool & Wolverine' promised a lot of cameos and it more than delivered.
Here's a look at all the cameos in 'Deadpool & Wolverine'.
1. Happy Hogan played by Jon Favreau
Jon Favreau stars as Happy Hogan in the movie as Deadpool visits his office trying to become an Avenger. The scene comes early in the movie and has many jokes and meta references.
There are pictures of the other Avengers as Happy Hogan also cracks a meta-joke about Robert Downey Jr. not doing cameos anymore in the other films.
2. Alternate universe Wolverine played by Henry Cavill
Henry Cavill is a star who many thought would never enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe but as they say, never say never. Henry Cavill enters as a version of Wolverine.
This cameo has raised the hopes of fans who are now expecting the Superman star to appear as Wolverine in the coming years.
3. Hulk
Hulk appears briefly in a shot where we see him beating up Wolverine in an alternate cinematic universe. It is tough to make out who is playing the character.
The scene however seems to be a tribute to the comic 'The Incredible Hulk #181', which came out in 1974
4. Johnny Storm played by Chris Evans
Perhaps the most impactful cameo in the film is Johnny Storm played by Chris Evans. Even Deadpool gets confused when he sees Chris Evans and expects Captain America.
But what we get is an absolute contrast with Johnny being a cursing foulmouth completely different from Captain America.
5. Sabretooth played by Tyler Mane
Tyler Mane appears in the film and plays the character of Wolverine's brother Sabretooth. The scene showcases a fight between the mutant and Sabertooth.
Deadpool calls this a fight that fans have waited decades for.
6. Elektra played by Jennifer Garner
Jennifer Garner reprises her role of Elektra from the 2003-05 era when Marvel Cinematic Universe wasn't a thing. Going deeper into the void, Wolverine and Deadpool find many forgotten heroes and that is where they meet Elektra
Deadpool also makes a meta-joke in the scene referencing Daredevil.
7. Gambit played Channing Tatum
Channing Tatum plays the role of Gambit as he enters the fray throwing playing cards during his entry. Gambit aka Remy LeBeau is an underrated member of the X-Men
He pulls off a brilliant move where he breaks a bottle with a playing card.
8. X-23 played by Dafne Keen
Perhaps the most important cameo from the point of view of Wolverine's character, X-23 aka Laura enters the film to motivate Logan to find goodness in himself and fight on.
Fans of the franchise would remember that X-23 was created from Logan's blood and in 'Logan' which came out in 2017, we saw the titular character dying to save her.
9. Hunter B-15 played by Wunmi Mosaku
The appearance of this character was spoiled in the trailer and the character of Hunter B-15 is reprised by Wunmi Mosaku who is also in the series 'Loki'.
This is another important cameo as the character adds to the plot by arresting Mr Paradox (Matthew Macfadyen)
10. Blade played by Wesley Snipes
The character of Blade was played by Wesley Snipes in 1998 and will be reprised soon by Maharsha Ali. The character is however played by Wesley Snipes in this film as the timeline reaches 1998.
This was among the most surprising cameos in the film.
11. Multiple Deadpools
Many Deadpools appear in a scene where they appear from different universes and take on the two superheroes. It features Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool too.
One of the most recognizable voices of Matthew McConaughey who voiced the character of Cowboy Deadpool.
12. Multiple Avengers appear indirectly.
Many Avengers appear in pictures and Chris Hemsworth appears in the film as Thor in a scene where he is crying over the dead body of Deadpool in an edited scene on a TVA screen.
The cameo signals a higher purpose for Deadpool which we discover later in the film.
13. Stan Lee
A Marvel film isn't complete without a Stan Lee cameo and the film has a cameo by her through a picture on a bus. This was an epic way to pay tribute to the creator of Marvel.
