'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' Season 5 will spoof 'Star Trek' and 'Friends', but in which episode?

The new trailer begins with the Legends starring in a spoof of 'Star Trek' called 'Star Trip' and also teases a 'Friends' spinoff episode

'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' Season 5 has been on a pretty long break ever since the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic halted production on all shows. But now the series is finally set to return to screens and The CW has released a promo for the return that teases a lot of insanity to come. And we're talking about 'Legends', which is already the most insane show on the network so you know this is something especially wild.

The glorious new trailer begins with the Legends starring in a spoof of 'Star Trek' called 'Star Trip', a show where space is the "fatal frontier", the adventurous crew of the USS Waverider travel to disobedient worlds to "blow them up with lasers", and Sara Lance / White Canary (Caity Lotz) talks in terrible imitation of William Shatner's style of speaking. That's not where the craziness stops though as there are also zombies, the Loom of Fate, and what looks like a world ruled by the Three Fates ie Charlie (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and her sisters.

If that's not enough to get you excited, the trailer also teases a 'Friends' spinoff episode and our money is on Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) being the Joey of this group. And in case you're wondering which episode all this madness is coming in, worry not, we got you covered.

Episode 14, the penultimate episode of the season, is titled 'The One Where We're Trapped On TV'. Could it be any more obvious?

We don't know for sure if the 'Star Trek' spoof happens in the same episode but it does look like it from the trailer. And with the Legends bravely going where no Arrowverse show has gone before, the fans are over the moon with excitement.

"OMG WTF - This look F***king awesome," one fan tweeted. "I can't stop laughing and my jaw has just hit the ground. I think this is the craziest Promo I have seen. Might need to put a seat belt on my chair because it looks like a wild ride."

"This is just... Such a Legends thing to do," another fan wrote. "We're in for one hell of a ride."

And then a fan went and tweeted "Wow ... Ray would have had so much fun with Star Trek," giving us all a terrible case of the feels.

'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' Season 5 will be back on The CW starting April 21 at 9 pm ET.
