A sneak peek released for 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' Season 5 Episode 3 (or 2, if you don't count 'Crisis on Infinite Earths') has revealed just how hopeless the team's situation is with regard to the encores, the newly-resurrected denizens of Hell. In the season opener, the Legends struggled quite a bit to take out the evil Russian monk Grigori Rasputin (Michael Eklund), finally resorting to a "Thanus" move to take him out using the size-changing abilities of Ray Palmer / Atom (Brandon Routh) and now it looks like even that might not be enough to stop the threats coming their way.

In the clip, we see John Constantine (Matt Ryan) explaining to the team that the whole encore situation is his fault because the mastermind behind it all is none other than Astra Logue (Olivia Swann), a young woman Constantine once accidentally doomed to Hell. While Sara Lance / White Canary (Caity Lotz) and the rest of the crew are overjoyed to find that, for once, they're not to blame for the mistakes in the timeline, they still have a pretty big problem on their hands.

With Astra pretty much ruling in Hell, there's no way for them to actually stop the encores because even if they do kill them, Astra can just send them back up. Right now, the only way for the team to keep the encores under control is to keep them all neutralized and stored away on the Waverider, possibly by putting their remains in condiment jars as they did with Rasputin.

Space problems aside, it looks like the show could be slowly building up to a full encore invasion of the ship. At the rate at which they're going, the Legends are soon going to be outnumbered by the evil undead and it would only be a matter of time before someone came along to free the encores from their pantry prison and lead them in a mutiny. Hopefully, Constantine can figure out a more permanent solution for this situation before that.

'DC's Legends of Tomorrow' Season 5 airs new episodes every Tuesday on The CW.
