‘Severance’ star shares big Season 3 update after confessing he knows how it ends: 'So many suprises...'
Given the massive cliffhanger that concluded Season 2 of 'Severance' on Apple TV+, anticipation for Season 3 is at an all-time high. Although there's still no definite news about a potential release date or plot details, star and executive producer Adam Scott recently divulged quite a few intriguing details about the upcoming installment of the dystopian show. Fans of 'Severance' all across the globe are waiting for the upcoming season with bated breath, as the high-concept series continues to create waves. While the wait continues, we do have an update from Scott himself.
In a recent interview with Variety magazine, Scott revealed that he's as ready for Season 3 as the audience. Also, he knows how the show will end. "Oh, yes. I’m an executive producer on the show, so I’m involved in all of it. We talk with the writers and Dan (Erickson) all the time. I know everything about what’s going on. (As an actor) I like having as much information as possible.” As of this writing, it has been confirmed that 'Severance' will undergo a major change of guard as Ben Stiller won't return to direct the third season. Nevertheless, Scott reiterated his excitement when he said, "It’s going to be great. There are so many surprises. I can’t wait to shoot it."
Scott further revealed that Stiller is very much involved with the project, despite not returning as a director for Season 3, "You know, it’s been over two years since we finished shooting Season 2. We’re all anxious to get back. We miss each other." Currently, Scott is all set to receive the Canal+ Icon Award this week at Canneseries. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play the character of Mark S., which was miles outside his comfort zone in comedy, and recognized that the show was a big undertaking for Apple TV, so he did not want to jeopardize the collective effort.
Scott elaborated, "It’s an incredible role in an incredible world. It’s everything I’d always wanted to do. When I read the script, first of all, I thought: ‘I probably won’t get this job. But if I do, if I’m able to land this, it will be because I’ve been earning this over the last 30 years. The opportunity to be considered for something like this, and a role where you get to explore different sides of this person. Happily, I auditioned only once. The more you do it, the more you can screw it up." Scott then spoke about the famous transition scenes, which required him and the other actors to be at their dramatic best. Given his attention to detail, Scott would rehearse the transitions several times before the cameras began rolling. 'Severance' is exclusively available on Apple TV+.
