Episode 3 of 'Euphoria' Season 3 covered the most anticipated moment from the show: Nate (Jacob Elordi) and Cassie's (Sydney Sweeney) wedding. The couple has been together for over five years, but their relationship feels stagnant. 'The Ballad of Paladin,' aired on April 26 on HBO, saw the high school gang back together for the first time since their graduation. Ruby 'Rue' Bennett (Zendaya), Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer), Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie), and Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow) reunite for their friends' wedding, despite their reservations about the couple's future. Unlike the first two seasons of 'Euphoria,' Season 3's score is not composed by Labrinth. Instead, Hans Zimmer's orchestral pieces elevate the characters' complex feelings, giving the drama more gravitas.

The latest episode of 'Euphoria' features classic numbers from Nat King Cole and Elvis Presley, including a mix of orchestral pieces with high-energy pop to underscore the chaotic atmosphere at the wedding. The orchestral piece, Pachelbel's 'Canon,' plays as Suze Howard (Alanna Ubach) walks Cassie down the aisle. Moreover, Johnny Western's song plays over the end credits as an homage to Fez, who was played by the late actor Angus Cloud in the show's first two seasons.

What happened in Episode 3 of 'Euphoria'?

In Episode 3 of 'Euphoria,' Nate and Cassie exchange wedding vows in the presence of their family and friends, despite the growing dissatisfaction with their relationship. Cassie learns about Nate's mounting financial debt after the loan sharks create a scene at the reception. They follow the newlyweds to their mansion, beat up Nate, cut off his pinky toe, and leave Cassie with a bloody nose on their wedding night. After reconnecting with Cassie in episode 2, Maddy agrees to attend her ex-boyfriend's wedding to her best friend. Rue brings Jules to the wedding as her plus one, leaving both Nate and his father, Cal Jacobs (Eric Dane), unsettled due to their history with Jules.

Jules has been living a comfortable life as a sugar baby to the wealthy plastic surgeon, Ellis. He pays for her penthouse apartment and takes care of her finances, allowing her to quit art school and pursue painting full-time. The duo engages in BDSM, with Ellis displaying a penchant for wrapping up Jules in Saran Wrap, as part of their sexual play. At the reception, Jules approaches Cal, who apologizes for secretly filming their sexual encounter in Season 1 while she was underage. He assures her that her tape was not handed over to the authorities after his arrest. Nate also catches up with Jules, for whom he still harbors romantic feelings.

The tension between Alamo Brown (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) and Laurie (Martha Kelly) escalates after the former orders his henchman, Bishop (Darrell Britt-Gibson), to kill Laurie's pet cockatoo, Paladin. In the episode, Rue becomes a part of Alamo's tight circle and becomes his arms dealer. However, she has bigger ambitions and dreams of going 'legit,' much to Alamo's annoyance. She leaves the wedding reception early to make a drug pickup for Laurie, but gets arrested by the DEA at the end of the episode.
