The second season of 'Georgie & Mandy's First Wedding' is certainly turning out to be one of the most character-rich instalments of the popular franchise. With Connor, Audrey, and Jim finally having rich character arcs of their own, George's own Missy and Mary have made several appearances as well. Moreover, Season 2 has also seen the return of Pastor Jeff, Dale, and MeeMaw. Ahead of the release of 'Georgie & Mandy's First Wedding' Season 2 episode 18, we can confirm the impending return of another fan-favorite character from 'Young Sheldon', last seen in the debut season of the spinoff show.

The new promotional trailer for the upcoming episode 18, shared by TV Promos on YouTube, revealed that Lance Barber will return to play George Cooper Sr. The upcoming episode, which is titled 'A New Scoreboard and a Horse's You Know What', will illustrate a major turning point in Fagenbacher and Georgie's ongoing rivalry as the former tries to sabotage the late Cooper Sr.'s tribute. It is worth mentioning that the episode will depict Cooper Sr.'s second death anniversary, as he died of a sudden heart attack in the final moments of the penultimate episode of 'Young Sheldon' season seven.

The tragedy of Cooper Sr.'s death naturally contributed to the atmosphere of the two-part finale, highlighting the grief-stricken family. In the aftermath of the tragedy, Sheldon eventually moved to California to pursue his postgraduate studies at Caltech. The story goes that ever since then, he has not returned home and is yet to make an appearance on ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Wedding’. On the other hand, the trailer for the upcoming episode also hinted that Missy and Mary will come to play a greater role in the narrative. It goes without saying that CBS’s creative decision to progress the narrative spotlight beyond the main Cooper family’s members may go a long way toward establishing in-show diversity. As the spinoff gears up to honor George Sr.'s memory, two of his dearest friends will be featured in the upcoming episode, according to the preview clip.

Principal Peterson, played by Rex Linn, and Coach Wilkins, played by Doc Farrow, will appear in 'A New Scoreboard and a Horse's You Know What'. The preview trailer had them speaking to Georgie, perhaps about the best way to honor the memory of his late father and their dear departed friend. It is interesting to remember that George Sr. had previously appeared on the debut season of the CBS spinoff and had startled Georgie, who was down with a raging fever. Going by this template, one might speculate that the Cooper family patriarch's upcoming appearance might be framed by a similar flashback or dream sequence as well.
