What happened to Tiffany Pugh?

Initially dismissed as a botched robbery, the situation took a dramatic turn when a DJ from the Atlanta area was subsequently apprehended for his alleged involvement in his wife's tragic death, which occurred just a month prior.

On November 23, Tiffany Pugh, a 30-year-old woman, was tragically found dead from a gunshot wound. Her young son AJ was discovered sitting atop her chest, a heartbreaking scene that painted a grim picture of the violent crime that had transpired.

Tiffany's life was cut short, leaving behind a devastated family and community in mourning. Then, the authorities worked hard to piece together the events leading up to this tragedy. Her cause of death was determined to be two separate gunshot wounds—one to her eye and another to her chest.

The fatal injuries were inflicted by gunfire, resulting in her tragic passing. "It was a home invasion. Tiffany was killed," one of Tiffany's close friends shared.

Why did Andre Pugh hire his DJ friend Adrian Harley to kill his wife Tiffany?

Andre Pugh enlisted the help of his DJ friend, Adrian Harley, to carry out a sinister plan to murder his wife, Tiffany. However, their dark scheme was foiled when authorities apprehended Andre on December 6, 2014.

Following his apprehension, Andre faced a slew of serious charges, including murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary. Simultaneously, Adrian Harley, the alleged triggerman in the plot, was also taken into custody. He was accused of being hired by Andre, known as DJ Awesome, to carry out the heinous act.

Reports indicated that Tiffany and Andre's marriage was strained, with divorce looming on the horizon. Further investigation revealed from Andre's phone records that he had been pleading with Tiffany to salvage their marriage.

Additionally, his phone data exposed that he had been communicating with multiple other women, making arrangements for sexual encounters while his wife was away on trips. To the officials overseeing the case, this discovery seemed to present a potential motive for Tiffany's murder.

How did the police find Adrian Harley?

By utilizing phone and financial records, law enforcement managed to establish a connection between Andre and his close friend, Adrian, to the brutal murder of Tiffany Pugh, according to reports from Yahoo.

The two suspects, Andre and Adrian, were arrested by law enforcement officials in December of that particular year in the murder mystery case. It was suspected that Andre masterminded the heinous act, while Adrian was believed to have carried out the actual shooting, allegedly hired by Andre to do so.

In 2018, Andre Pugh faced trial for his involvement in the crime, while Adrian Harley's trial occurred in 2022, several years after the incident. Subsequent to the trials, both individuals were found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for their crimes.

Adrian Harley's trial

Andre Pugh's trial began on September 24, 2018, and concluded on October 5, 2018, as reported by FindLaw.

After nearly four years since Tiffany Pugh's murder-for-hire, a jury found Andre guilty on all charges, which included murder, possession of a firearm during a felony, and various other offenses, as reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Following the conviction, Andre was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole.

WSB-TV revealed that Adrian Harley, the contract killer, faced trial in the year 2022 and was ultimately found guilty. As a consequence, he was handed a life sentence to be served in prison. The Georgia Department of Corrections confirmed that Andre is currently serving his sentence at Hancock State Prison, while Adrian is behind bars at Smith State Prison.

Did Tiffany Pugh plan to leave her husband?

According to a close friend who requested anonymity, Tiffany, a mother of two, had been grappling with marital difficulties and contemplating relocating and separating from her husband, Andre.

Talking about Tiffany's husband Andre, her anonymous friend told CBS46, “On Facebook, it didn’t seem like a grieving husband. If he did it, I really hope he rots in hell.”

According to Tiffany's close circle of friends, rumors were circulating that she was planning to file for divorce from Andre. Reports indicated that she had even taken the initial step of consulting with a divorce attorney approximately two and a half weeks before the tragic murder occurred.

In addition, the financial documents of the couple indicated that Tiffany Pugh, who was experiencing success in her career at Delta Airlines, was the primary source of income for the household.

“When Tiffany was going to move out, Andre was trying to figure out how he could switch the mortgage into his name. But the bank wouldn’t do it because he didn’t have credit," investigators stated. The authorities believed that this could have been a possible motive behind Tiffany's tragic death.
