CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: 'Dark Matter' on Apple TV+ has been receiving rave reviews from fans on social media. The series not only intrigues viewers with its mind-bending sci-fi plot but has also earned praise for its compelling performance by Joel Edgerton.

The series introduces Edgerton as Jason Dessen, a Physics professor, who is mysteriously abducted in Episode 1. It is soon revealed that his alternate self swapped places with him using a box based on the concept of quantum superposition.

Jason 1, who is now trapped in Jason 2's reality, struggles to return to his former life and reunite with his wife and son.

The unfolding of certain events has raised questions in the minds of the viewers about the entire plot.

In his multiverse adventures, Jason 1 is accompanied by Amanda Lucas (played by Alice Braga), Jason 2's girlfriend and psychologist at Velocity.

Although she understands that injecting the pills will place them in a state of superposition, she is uncertain about the next course of action.

Throughout the series, we see Amanda and Jason 1 wondering how the box operates, prompting viewers to question the essence of the entire plot.

The narrative establishes that Amanda has been associated with Velocity for years, mentoring pilots mentally before they embark on their journeys through the multiverse.

Viewers find it hard to believe that despite her experience training others, Amanda struggles to align her mind in the series. Fans have voiced their frustration about this plot inconsistency on Reddit.

A fan of the show started a Reddit thread and wrote, "She has worked for years at a company that is studying a way of traveling multiverses, she knows this and what the box is for, she gets in the box and all of a sudden it has to be explained to her what the multiverse is and why all the doors contain different universes?"

Someone joined the discussion and called it "lazy writing". The fan further added, "They needed a way to explain the multiverse to the viewer and they didn't give enough of a shit to come up with some context that made sense. I really like this show. It seems smart but there are definitely some moments where, as a viewer, you just feel insulted."

Another viewer who has been closely observing the details of the show pointed out, "Blair Caplan knows exactly what her mind training was for, but Amanda a psychologist in charge of the very training didn't know what was going on?"

"She’s from a universe where marvel doesn’t exist," joked another Reddit user.

Why does Amanda Lucas accompany Jason Dessen in his multiverse travels in 'Dark Matter'?

Despite Jason 1 asking Amanda to stay in her reality in 'Dark Matter' Episode 3, she decides to accompany him on his adventures.

She had come to realize that the actions of Leighton Vance (Dayo Okeniyi) at Velocity were unethical. Therefore, when she tried to help Jason 1 escape and was spotted by Leighton, she understood that her chances of survival were slim.

Fearing for her life after Leighton's henchwoman Dawn (Aina Dumlao) killed Daniela 2 (Jennifer Connelly), Amanda decided to leave her reality for good.
