'Dancing With The Stars' has kicked off with a new season, and fans have been eagerly voting to keep their favorite contestants on the show. While the contestants on this season have surprised the viewers, another shocking change to take place this season was Tom Bergeron's firing from the show.

Bergeron had confirmed the news on his social media and left fans unhappy. Meanwhile, the network later announced that Tyra Banks will be taking his place. ABC also released a statement of their own in which they said he was being replaced for "creative new direction". "Tom Bergeron will forever be part of the 'Dancing with the Stars' family. He departs the show with our sincerest thanks and gratitude for his trademark wit and charm that helped make this show a success. Erin will also not be returning, and we appreciate all that she brought to the ballroom," read the statement. When Banks hosted the season premiere of the show, fans were quick to slam her. They were not a fan of how she conducted the show and some thought she was bringing 'Americas Got Talent' hosting skills to the stage. Even with the second episode, she was not able to redeem herself as she forgot some lines while others criticized her for rushing judges to come up with a decision.

The television host later admitted that she made some blunders. "I hosted the second episode of Dancing with the Stars... and yeah, it wasn't perfect," she said, as reported by TV Insider. "Yeah, I had a lot of fun but I messed up, I said the wrong words, but I kept, kept going." However, this was not enough to make fans go easy on her. Ever since it was announced that she would be replacing Bergeron, people took it upon themselves to make some change happen. Several petitions have been made and signed by people requesting ABC to fire Banks and bring Bergeron back on the show. Despite this, it seems highly unlikely that Banks will be removed while the show is going on. With many more episodes to go, will Banks redeem herself and make a place for herself in the hearts of people?

'Dancing With The Stars' airs on Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
