'Dancing With The Stars' Season 28: Fans claim series should have brought back Mary Wilson after Ray Lewis bows out due to injury

Fans took to social media to express unhappiness and said they should have brought back Mary this week since Ray quit.

Ray Lewis and Cheryl Burke might have gotten a second chance last week when the judges saved them and sent Mary Wilson and Brandon home. But sadly, their dream of winning the mirrorball this season was yet shortlived after the former NFL player had to hang up his dancing shoes during an old injury.

The former Ravens linebacker during the September 30 night's episode, in a pretaped video, revealed that due to all the practicing on his already injured feet, he ended up injuring it more by tearing three tendons and having to undergo a surgery. 

Though him quitting the competition came as a sudden shock to fans and viewers, Ray and his pro partner did drop hints on Instagram with their recent posts. Prior to the episode, he took to Instagram and uploaded a picture captioning it, "Don't get me wrong - I understand the grind - the effort and commitment it takes is unparalleled. But when you finally level up what else will be left? Did you cut off your friends and family or sacrifice your mental health? Make time for what matters. Take care of yourself. Mind, Body, and Spirit. #NoExcuses."

At the same time, Cheryl uploaded a post of her in front of her dressing table on Instagram captioning it, “Hair courtesy of @kelseygusto, glam courtesy of @crabichuk, deep thought courtesy of the upcoming live show. #DWTS.” 

Last week, Ray and Cheryl were in the bottom two along with Mary and Brandon. But after a lot of contemplation, the judges decided to eliminate Mary and Brandon, saving Ray and Cheryl. And now after the news of him bowing out of the show was revealed, fans took to social media and revealed they were not happy about the outcome, and state that the judges should have brought back Mary this week since Ray Lewis time on the show came to a sudden end.

Taking to Twitter a fan wrote, "Since Ray Lewis is gone, then bring back Mary Wilson!! #DWTS What a scam." Adding to that another fan said, "If Ray Lewis is out THEN WHY ISNT MARY BACK IN? Ridiculous #DWTS." 

"Are you kidding me? Ray Lewis is out of the competition because of an injury? AFTER THE JUDGES SAVED HIM LAST WEEK??? Mary deserved to stay in the competition then. So many foolish decisions so far this season. #DWTS." 

"This Ray Lewis montage is bullshit. LET MARY COME BACK #DWTS," said another fan.
