'Dancing with the Stars' judge Carrie Ann Inaba believes Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten are 'in love'
In the last couple of weeks, viewers were shown that Alexis finally decided to address the 'elephant in the room' and discuss her feelings for Alan, with him, on camera itself.
Season 27 of ABC's Dancing with the Stars has been packed with surprises. From shocking exits to outrageous double eliminations, and a new romance that brewed on the cameras itself - there has been a lot of debate online about the drama-packed season that DWTS has been. And speaking of romance, there have been several remarks about the people involved - Alexis Ren and her pro-partner Alan Bersten - stealing the spotlight unnecessarily. But now, judge Carrie Ann Inaba has sort of invalidated those speculations of unnecessary sub-plots by stating that what Alexis and Alan might have going on between them, is a real thing, and not something the show cooked up just to attract viewers. Of course, the latter bit is a speculation made by us, but Inaba's faith in the two's highly talked about 'showmance' is quite firm indeed.
“Seems like they’re in love!” the 50-year-old judge said about the new couple as she attended the Women’s Guild Cedars-Sinai Diamond Jubilee Luncheon on Thursday, November 8, reported Us Weekly. And that should be enough to shut harsh critics and social media trolls up considering the amount of flack Alexis and Alan's budding romance has received online.
It all started when the chemistry between the two kept getting highlighted after back to back stellar performances by the couple. They pretty much set the dance floor ablaze every time they presented an articulate form of ballroom dancing, as they competed for the coveted Mirrorball trophy. In the last couple of weeks, viewers were shown that Alexis finally decided to address the 'elephant in the room' and discuss her feelings for Alan, with him, on camera itself.
Following that, in preparation for the latest Country Night themed episode, the two of them also went horseriding and then happened the inevitable - Alan confessed to 'falling' for Alexis and the two shared a sweet kiss on camera. Later on, in the Country Night episode, the two finally kissed on the dance floor. “I’m in a place where we worked so hard for this amazing journey together, and I’m afraid I will mess that up in some way,” Alan told the model and social media star. “But I’ve never had an experience like this. It’s so easy to just hang out with you and have fun and not worry about everything else. I do have feelings for you. And I really feel like I am falling for you.”
Earlier, when Alexis had been asked directly about her feelings for Alan, she had confessed: “I didn’t see this one coming. It happened really quickly, though, so I think I’m still trying to process it.” And amidst all the processing, she has also managed to share a quite cryptic tweet on November 7, in the form of Bishop Briggs lyrics: “Funny how a blessing feels just like a curse / Bad lovers but somehow good love hurts me worse.”
Suspicious enough? Well - to put it in the words of Inaba herself, “It’s been a very different season that we’re used to." So holding on to that train of thought, fans can only wonder what unsuspecting element DWTS will shock them with in its upcoming semi-final episode that's set to air on ABC on Monday, November 12, at 8 p.m. ET.
