'Dancing With The Stars' season 28, episode 2: Fans suspect Sean Spicer is being used by the judges to generate controversy and drama
Sean Spicer returned to the DWTS stage on Monday night where he and his pro partner performed a tango routine and thankfully, this time he left his neon ruffle shirt at home.
Last week when Spicer performed his debut salsa routine, he and Lindsay Arnold received a score of 12/30. With his scores being one among the lowest of the night, he decided to go back to his former roots and created a campaign to gain votes.
Revealing merchandise for his campaign, the former White House press secretary told his partner that they are, "launching the campaign: Spicer Arnold." Adamant on getting votes, and not concentrating on his practice, Spicer was seen jokingly rallying for votes on DWTS.
While he can campaign all he wants, if he had to put all that attention and time practicing, he might have done better. Performing a tango routine to "Shut Up and Dance", he might have improved since last week's performance, but it was nowhere good compared to most of the other performances. The judges, on the other hand, gushed about how him just walking around looked like tango. Spicer also went on to reveal that it's his birthday to which Carrie Ann said, "I'm going to say happy birthday to you because that was super much improved."
Spicer received a total score of 16/30 and an overall two-week score of 28/30. Though his overall scores aren't higher than NFL player Ray Lewis', fans state that his performance was really bad and didn't deserve a score of 16 which is one point higher than Lewis's. They also speculate that the judges might be stringing him along just to stir controversy and drama on the show.
Taking to Twitter a fan said, "#DWTS Sean Spicer was so much worse than Ray Lewis. He didn’t dance, he slowly walked. That’s not dancing. So how the hell did he get better scores? Are the judges/producers trying to keep him on? Just to stir controversy?"
Adding to that another fan said, "#DWTS @carrieanninaba Are you trying to keep Sean Spicer on? Telling him he didn’t miss a step? He didn’t dance! He slowly and stiffly walked through his dance. He was awful. 2 give him better scores than Ray Lewis? U must be trying 2 keep him. Cause that’s ridiculous."
"Name something more stiff than Sean Spicer trying to dance the Tango..........I’ll wait. #DWTS," said another fan.
