'Joker' continued its rich form at the award ceremony. on January 12 night. The Joaquin Phoenix-starrer bagged its second award at the 25th Annual Critics' Choice Awards for Best Original Score. The composer Hildur Guðnadóttir already got awarded Best Original Score at the 77th Golden Globe Awards last weekend.  Nominees in the category included: Michael Abels—  'Us', Alexandre Desplat — 'Little Women'. Randy Newman — 'Marriage Story',  Thomas Newman— '1917', and Robbie Robertson —  'The Irishman'.

Joker’s home release has special features that showed how Guðnadóttir helped enhance Phoenix’s performance. There was a bathroom scene that allowed the actor to flex his acting muscles and music was a huge reason why it all came together so nicely.

As reported by Comicbook, Guðnadóttir said: "I started writing the music just after reading the script. So I just started playing with a cello a bit, which is my main instrument, and just played around with some melodies and the feelings and me kind of sat with it for a few hours. And then I was actually practicing something else, and I kind of stumbled onto what became the main theme afterward. It was just like a feeling strong feeling of something clicking into place because it just connected with exactly the same feeling that I’d had when I read the script."

She worked on the 'Joker' score alongside the score for the drama miniseries 'Chernobyl'.  'Joker' follows Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up comedian whose descent into insanity and nihilism inspires a violent counter-cultural revolution against the wealthy in a decaying Gotham City.

At the Critics' Choice Awards this year, Phoenix is also winning big. After his Golden Globe win, the actor won the Critics' Choice Award for Best Actor as well at Santa Monica's Barker Hangar.
