Spoiler alert for 'Criminal Minds' Season 15 Episode 3 'Spectator Slowing'

Time passes excruciatingly fast when it comes to this crime drama and perhaps that's the reason why 'Criminal Minds' is such a beloved series. This week, the BAU crew takes on the case of a serial bomber who is blowing up homes in Tennessee and Kentucky in what looks a random victim arrangement. While trying to nab the guy, Agent Luke Alvez (Adam Rodríguez) has a very close call with death.

Luke goes to the hospital where one of the victims from the blasts is getting treated after a miraculous survival and doesn't realize that the UnSub is actually roaming the halls. He leaves a bomb disguised as a gift in the patient's room. When Luke steps in, it's the first thing he notices. He immediately evacuates the room after no one is able to identify the origin of the "gift" and as soon as he opens it, it starts beeping down at 4 seconds.

No one at the BAU is able to contact or locate him, and Penelope Garcia freaks out and tells the rest of the team. However, it turns out, the bomb wasn't actually set to go off. It was the bomber showing off his intentions and reach out. Phew!

What was really interesting to see was Penelope's teary-eyed reaction to Luke going missing. It's a love we've always hoped for and it looks like we may see more on this plotline in the upcoming season. Penelope is absolutely loved in the fandom and so is Luke. And it would be good to see them finally be happy and find love — plus, their chemistry is off the charts!

Here's also hoping that Luke gets to be more in the front and center of things where we actually get to see him in action. We know he's a pro at it and really good at handling tense situations, so hopefully, we will see more of his character arc as well. With just four more episodes to go, the show has a lot to wrap up.

Criminal Minds airs at 9-10 pm, ET/PT on the CBS Television Network.
