The Season 2 finale of 'Star Trek: Discovery' proved that we are still unfamiliar with the intricacies of time and space in Trekverse. In order to save the universe from an apocalyptic AI, Discovery was sent far into the future, because apparently time travel is a thing now. Now that the ship and the crew are in the 32nd century, the story can go in numerous directions with this unchartered territory. Apart from this sudden and new premise, we were also left with several questions about Season 3, which is yet to be aired.

Will we see Pike again?

At the end of Season 2, Captain Pike sticks to the story of a tragic accident, explaining the disappearance of the ship and its crew. While this ties into 'Star Trek: The Original Series', it might separate the first two seasons of 'Discovery' and what might follow from now. The scene where Pike, Number One and Spock stand on the bridge of the Enterprise, it seems like a goodbye to the characters. If we're lucky, we might just get a Pike spin-off and see more of him, else settle for flashbacks and special appearances.

Will Michael and her mother be reunited?

Fans are sure that they will meet each other, or that he will find her, even though the ship has hurtled 950 years into the future. Michael has promised to find her at any cost.

Will Stamets and Culber get back together?

'Star Trek: Discovery' broke new ground as they got a gay couple at the forefront of the story. Paul Stamets and Hugh Culber were a fan-favorite, till Culber was killed off in Season 1 itself. But this is 'Star Trek', anything is possible. So, Culber was resurrected again in Season 2. However, it was not sunny in paradise as the couple began to grow apart and they finally ended their relationship. The storyline was shelved for a while, only to give them a quick reunion in the Season 2 finale. Will Season 3 fix their relationship?

Does Starfleet exist?

It's the 32nd century now and nothing is familiar. We don't know if Starfleet or even the United Federation Of Planets exist. In the 'Short Treks' episode 'Calypso', which is set in a similar time frame, there is something called the V'draysh, whose name itself is a distortion of the word Federation. Are they the big bad now? It's hard to say. And now that Discovery is no longer a Starfleet or Federation vessel, then what exactly is her purpose?

Who is the Captain of Discovery now?

While many would point to the usually-reliable Saru, it is uncertain if he will become the captain due to his own recklessness of late. However, in the final episodes of Season 2, it seems as if the important decisions were all made by the team collectively. Will this continue, now that they are so far into the future?

Perhaps this time at Comic Con we will get some of our questions answered. On July 23 at 10 am, there will be a table read of the Season 2 finale of 'Star Trek: Discovery' followed by a Q&A with the cast at Comic Con 2020. It will also feature the stars of 'Star Trek: Strange New Worlds'; creator Mike McMahan and the voice cast of the upcoming animated 'Star Trek: Lower Decks'; and 'Star Trek: Picard' featuring Patrick Stewart and cast. It will be moderated by Dominic Patten.
