PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Thanks to her extremely witty and relatable stand-up set during the 'America's Got Talent' Season 17 auditions, comedian Aiko Tanaka instantly became a fan favorite. Many fans even began rooting for her to win the talent-hunt show and pocket the $100,000 grand prize and an opportunity to be the headlining act in Las Vegas. Amidst much fan-fare, Aiko took to the stage on the recently aired semifinals episode of 'AGT'.

The comedian began her set by complaining about how English is a very complicated language. She then proceeded to share some instances from her life to drive home the point. Unfortunately for Aiko, her jokes failed to land amongst the audience. Her long pauses and anticipation for laughs from the audience didn't bode well for her act. Despite the not-so-funny jokes, the audience continued to cheer for Aiko and kept hoping that it would eventually get better. Though the performance ended on a lackluster note, the judges politely encouraged her to continue performing and gave her positive feedback. However, unlike the judges, 'AGT' fans didn't hold back when it came to critiquing Aiko's stand-up set.

Many fans took to Twitter and the show's YouTube clip of her performance to point out the flaws in her set. A fan tweeted, "#Aiko - Needs more stage work ... seems a bit hesitant. Seemed to be waiting for applause to often. She's funny, but seems a bit forced. Really wanted her to do well. #AGT." "I didn't laugh once to Aiko . #AGT,#AmericasGotTalent," wrote a fan. "Aiko Tanaka, sorry if you have to stand there waiting for the audience to get it and react then it wasn't very funny. #AGT," commented a fan. "This act is painful. I'd rather watch Heidi's earrings than more of #AikoTanaka #AGT #AmericasGotTalent," declared a fan.

"Genuinely awful standup set ... not a single laugh. Extremely painful to watch. I have seen bad Open Mic comics put together better sets than this. Don't lie to people and tell them they are good when they are genuinely terrible," shared a fan on her performance's YouTube clip. "My lord this was obnoxiously bad. What is it with these judge's agreeableness... Her timing was uncomfortable and the jokes were so weak," pointed out a fan. "Wasn’t funny and you can tell the audience felt bad for her because they kept clapping and cheering when she went silent like…," observed a fan.
