Despite their low scores, the father-son duo from Phoenix, Arizona has long been a fan favorite. The third week of 'Come Dance With Me' featured one of Avery and Jack Khoundara's most solid performances.

'Come Dance With Me,' CBS' all-new dancing competition show featuring kid dancers who team with a parent or loved one without any prior dance experience, aired on Friday, April 15, and the level of competition simply keeps getting better as the show enters its third week. You have a little dancer that invites their parent or anybody they look up to perform with them on the show. The teams compete week after week in the hopes of earning the $100,000 grand prize. The two lowest-scoring teams from each episode compete in a freestyle dance to decide who advances to the next week.

As simple as the concept may appear, it is not without difficulty for the show's actual performers. Each duo can be seen putting in long hours, as one of each team's members has little to no prior dance expertise, making things more difficult than usual. A father-son duo from Phoenix, Arizona, Jack and Avery Khoundara, is one of the teams that has been struggling since day one. Avery is an 11-year-old dance fanatic who has been dancing since he was much younger than he is now! In 2020, he achieved the title of Master Dance of America, a Ballet, Jazz, and Tap Intensive. He is on the show with his father, Jack Khoundara, a network engineer and amateur dancer.

Since their debut performance, the contrast in expertise between the two has been fairly evident. The duo is frequently seen receiving feedback from the judges, emphasizing that they need to improve their performance. Last week's seventh-place standee heeded the judges' advice and gave it their best during the "bust a groove" week. This week's theme required teams to include three distinct types of dance steps in their performance. While Jack and Avery chose to incorporate "straddle jump," "moonwalk," and "jazz slide" into their performance, "Gonna Make You Sweat" (Everybody Dance Now) was their song of choice.

Following a powerful performance, the duo received comments from the judges that they had hoped for a long time. Tricia Miranda, the choreographer, applauded the duo for their great progress from their previous performance, and they received a 7 out of 10 ratings. Dexter Mayfield thought the duo had finally made their presence known and scored a good 7. Jenna, who is normally the harshest critic, was blown away by their intensity and gave them a staggering 7.5. This is the duo's highest score in three weeks, with a total of 22.5.

Even though the duo has taken their time impressing the judges, they have a sizeable fan base among the viewers.]]], with supporters usually running to their aid when they find themselves dangling at the bottom of the scoreboard. Their recent performance was also applauded on Twitter, as one of the fans tweeted: "Oh my, gotta LOVE that!!! Everybody Dance Now! They did a FANTASTIC JOB @CBS #ComeDanceWithMe"

Another fan didn't hold back and called out the judges for their unfair scoring in the past: "Avery & Jack.. Don't cheat them again in week 3! They are Good So much improvement 21.5 #comedancewithme"

However, with improved feedback and a higher score this week, fans are hoping the duo will not end up in the bottom two, where the two teams must compete for their lives. Fans will have to wait another week to find out if the father-son duo is safe, as the third episode only aired half of the performances.

'Come Dance With Me' airs on CBS every Friday at 8/7c.
