'Colourless and dull': Fans hate on the new poster featuring Halle Bailey of 'The Little Mermaid'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Everyone loves Disney movies as they have a feeling-good factor about them and especially the classics like 'The Little Mermaid' will always have a special place in everyone's hearts. The musical fantasy film is helmed by Rob Marshall from a screenplay written by David Magee and Jane Goldman, and a story by Magee, Marshall, and John DeLuca. As we know, in the original movie she ended up trading her voice for her legs to meet the love of her life, the new poster image is a clear homage to the poster of the original 1989 film. Alan Menken, the legendary Disney composer behind the music of classics such as 'Beauty and the Beast,' and 'Aladdin,' came back to write the score of the new version after creating the iconic songs heard in the original 1989 version. This time around, he will be joined by Lin-Manuel Miranda, the artist behind the successful Hamilton musical. Regardless, the film stars Halle Bailey as the main character- Ariel, alongside Jonah Hauer-King, Javier Bardem, and Melissa McCarthy, with Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, and Awkwafina in voice roles. Additionally, Jessica Alexander, Russell Balogh, and Adrian Christopher have been cast in undisclosed roles.

A fan suggested, "It's a tad bit too dark. Like Little mermaid was dark in it's colour palatte but this is too dark. Also the OG poster had stars etc to show it was night because I know some people will say it was trying to copy the OG one." A fan mentioned, "Being brutally honest this poster looks shite dull , boring and depressing springs to mind." Lastly a fan added, "This is not the Little mermaid I grew up loving and the portrail of the her is not accurate to the original film...I don't know what Disney is thinking but this film should of never gotten off th÷ ground. It's going to flop so damn bad...they need to stop deviating from original,"
