What's happening in the trailer?

In the video, Halle Bailey's enigmatic performance as Princess Ariel from the upcoming live-action Disney adaptation is explored in greater detail. The evil sea witch Ursula, played by Melissa McCarthy, is shown in 'The Little Mermaid' teaser plotting to conquer Ariel's kingdom of Atlantica, as well as Flounder and Prince Eric. Halle Bailey's singing as Ariel is one of the other standout elements from the new 'The Little Mermaid' teaser that Disney seems eager to emphasize in the promotions.

The new teaser does provide viewers with many vivid glimpses of the remake, including the first look at Jacob Tremblay's charming live-action performance as Flounder. The introduction of Ariel's sisters Perla, Indira, Karina, Caspia, Mala, and Tameka, all of whom have been given new names from their initial appearances in the animated version of the movie is also admirably highlighted in the video.

Trailer receives mixed reactions from the viewers

The trailer received mixed reactions from the viewers. While some viewers are actually excited to watch the upcoming remake of the classic film, others are preferring to stay away. One excited viewer tweeted, "A grown woman should not be this excited about this movie šŸ¦€šŸ§œā€ā™€ļøšŸ“šŸ‘." Another said, "My 6-year-old granddaughter is so excited for this! Just as her mother was when she first saw the animated one. The trailer looks great and the snippet of the song is gorgeous! Fun stuff, Disney!"

One user tweeted, "Omg. Her voice is enchanting. I might go ahead and see this one. I used to love the little mermaid movie. It'll be interesting to see how they pull off the live-action version." Another viewer said, "My favourite part in The Lil wokemaid was when she said "look at me, I'm the Captain now." Truly inspiring. In this moment I'm euphoric."

Others were not so happy about the remake as one said, "Yes! I hope they do a live-action of 🐸Princess and the Frog and I DO NOT want Tiana to be white. I hope we get a Live-action Moana - she should be Polynesian. It’s not racist to want Disney to extend and expand upon the nostalgia for the iconic figures you enjoyed as a child."

Jumping into the discussion, another user said, "This isn't little mermaid no matter how you try how many times you call people racist it's going to fail. We are sick of you hijacking characters and stories and inserting your agenda. How about find value in black stories and stop giving them our hand me down used up characters." One user commented, "1.2 million dislikes šŸ‘Ž on YouTube says it all really all this ridiculous race swap has to stop."
