Coachella 2022: How to live stream, date, venue, line-up and all the hype around planet’s biggest music festival

After getting rescheduled twice in 2020 and then getting pushed twice in 2021 before being canceled, Coachella is finally going to make its big return in 2022. The Instagram page of the giant music festival shared the official new dates of 2022, sending music lovers into a tizzy. The details of The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival were posted on their official website as well.

Music festivals such as Rolling Loud Miami, Lollapalooza and Summerfest are already making a comeback this year. Speaking of Coachella, the renowned desert festival was first postponed from its usual schedule from April to October 2020 due to the unfortunate global pandemic. It was then planned for April 2021, which got pushed to October 2021 but that too got canceled. Artists such as Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey and Calvin Harris were first announced as the headliners in 2020. Coachella is one of the biggest music festivals on the planet selling out 125,000 tickets per day.

Date and Venue

According to the official Instagram page of Coachella, the festival will open the gates on April 15-17 and April 22-24, 2022. Speaking of the venue, just like every year, the mega event will be held at Indio, California. The Southern California-based event usually attracts more than 100,000 people a day. The official statement read: "See you in the desert Coachella returns April 15-17 & 22-24, 2022. Register now to access the 2022 advance sale beginning Friday, June 4 at 10am PT." The sister event of Coachella known as the Stagecoach Festival also announced its dates, April 29 to May 1. Fans can stay updated by visiting the official website of the same.



 

Festival passes

The advance sale of the passes will commence from Friday, June 4, at 10am PT. There are different kinds of passes available on the official website. Fans can get their hands on general passes, VIP, lodges, tents and safari camping. For general passes, fans need to shell out close to $500, the VIP pass, on the other hand, will cost around $1,100. If one is planning to go for the lodges, then they will have to spend close to $2,500.

The lodge passes can also be teamed up with VIP, which will then add up to approximately $3,500. If one wants to upgrade with Lake Eldorado Tent along with VIP for four people, it will cost around $5,400. Music lovers at Coachella can also opt for the ultimate safari camping experience. The package for the same starts at $7,500 and ends at $9,500. With this package, the visitors can enjoy luxurious amenities such as furnished tent, golf cart transportation between stages, private restrooms and showers, concierge service, and more. It also includes Coachella guest passes for two people.



 



 

What is Coachella all about?

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an annual event co-founded by Paul Tollett and Rick Van Santen in 1999. It is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert and features some of the biggest artists from different genres such as rock, pop, indie, hip-hop and electronic dance music.



 

Amenities

Since Coachella is held in a desert, the organizers every year make sure that the attendees do not lack the basic amenities. Apart from the usual eat and drink from the general stores, the visitors will also be treated with free water refill stations, free Wi-Fi, toiletries, showers, camping supplies, phone charging, portable restrooms and security and medical assistance with 24-hour emergency response.



 

Line-up

The line-up for the 2022 edition of Coachella has not been announced yet. MEAWW will keep you posted. For the unversed, musicians like Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott and Frank Ocean, along with Lana Del Rey, Calvin Harris, Run the Jewels, Lil Uzi Vert, Rex Orange County and Megan Thee Stallion were some of the scheduled headliners for 2020. Artistes namely BIGBANG, Flume, Thom Yorke, Disclosure, 21 Savage, Danny Elfman, DaBaby, Summer Walker, Daniel Caesar, FKA Twigs, Marina, Louis the Child, Ari Lennox, and many more were also roped in for the performances.

How to live stream

Continuing the ritual, the much-awaited event will be live-streamed on YouTube. Speaking about the same, the giant video streaming platform said in a statement, as reported by Variety, “We’re back and thrilled to be partnering with Goldenvoice for the 10th year to live stream the iconic Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on YouTube. As the world’s biggest virtual stage, we are more excited than ever to celebrate live music and to bring two weekends of extraordinary performances to music fans around the world.
