'Class of '83' is a Netflix original Indian crime drama coming to the giant streamer this August, and is based on a book of the same name. Giving us 'Sacred Games' vibes, this thriller starring Bobby Deol follows the themes of police corruption, crime and a determined vigilante. Here is what we know of the foreign drama's upcoming release.

Plot

Netflix's official synopsis reads: "A hero policeman shunted to a punishment posting as the Dean of the police academy decides to punish the corrupt bureaucracy and its criminal allies in return by training five lethal assassin policemen. But, like all good plans, it only works for a while until the fire that he has ignited threatens to burn his own house down."

Bobby Deol, son of Bollywood legend Dharmendra and brother of actor Sunny Deol, is known for his roles as Badal in 'Barsaat' (29915), Yash in 'Race 3' (2018), Raj Singhania in 'Humraaz' (2002) and Raja in 'Badal' (2000). His most recent roles were in 'Poster Boys' (2017), 'Race 3' (2018), 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se' (2018) and 'Housefull 4' (2019).

Bhupendra Jadawat as Pramod Shukla

Bhupendra Jadawat is known for his roles as Roy in 'Sailing Through Life', his role in 'Kota Junction' and as Derek in 'Destiny'.

Other members of the cast include Vishwajeet Pradhan as Mangesh Doiphode, Anup Soni as Manohar Patkar, Ahmareen Anjum as Sweta, Joy Sengupta as Raghav Desai, Hitesh Bhojraj as Vishnu Varde and many more.

Creators

'Class of 83' is directed by Atul Sabharwal with Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande serving as the writer. Dharam Soni serves as head of production with Hussain Zaidi as associate producer, Yogendra Mogre as co-producer, and Gauri Khan, Shar Rukh Khan and Gaurav Verma serving as producers.
