Born in 1982 in Texas, Tiya Sircar is an actress with Indian roots. She is most prominently known for her roles in ‘The Good Place’, ‘Star Wars Rebels’, ‘The Internship’, ‘Miss India America’ and ‘17 Again’. Her parents who are both college professors invoked a love for the arts in her at a tender age. Sircar started taking part in performing arts like dancing at age three and went on to learn Indian classical and folk dance, ballet, jazz, lyrical and modern.

Sircar went to the University of Texas at Austin and got two bachelor's degrees: the first in business/marketing, and another in theater & dance. It was at this period that she realized that arts was her true calling. "I should've studied something like art history that I was really interested in," she reportedly said in an interview. "Because it turns out I didn't really enjoy my business degree. I had two separate lives in college. I had this very creative group of friends in my dance and theater program. And then there was this whole other side. I was actually in a business fraternity because all my friends joined it."

After her graduation, Sircar moved to Los Angeles to embark on a professional career. She recalled how there were not many South Asian actresses when she joined Hollywood back in the 2000s. "At the time, there weren't a lot of South Asian actresses at all, especially in my age range. I thought, maybe I'll just show up, and someone will be like, 'You! I need you in my next movie.' I really felt very good that there was a chance of that happening."

Tiya Sircar got a lead role in the ABC series ‘Alex, Inc.’ which was released in 2018. The series portrays Sircar as the wife to Zach Braff's character Alex Schuman who essays a mind-blowing radio host. Sircar also appeared on the NBC hit comedy ‘The Good Place’. In that series, she plays many shifting characters, from an altruistic human rights lawyer to a power-hungry demon. However, Sircar’s breakthrough point in career came with Disney/Lucas Film animated series ‘Star Wars Rebels’ and short-form interstitial series ‘Star Wars: Forces of Destiny’ where she voiced the character of Sabine Wren.

Sircar has also featured in guest roles in Netflix's ‘Master of None’ and Fox's ‘The Mindy Project’. She has also employed her dramatic and comedic chops on ‘The Witches of East End’, ‘The Vampire Diaries’, ‘The Crazy Ones’, ‘Hannah Montana’ and ‘The Suite Life on Deck’.
