'Chicago PD' Season 7: When will Episode 19 air and will Ruzek and Burgess get back together?
'Chicago PD', like the other shows in the 'Chicago' franchise, will end its current season earlier than expected since production halted due to the pandemic. While earlier, Season 7 was supposed to have 23 episodes, now it will end with Episode 20. However, there are still two episodes left to enjoy.
However, Episode 19 will not air this week as the show goes on one of its scheduled breaks. But considering we don't know when our favorite Chicago detectives will be back, it might be good to stretch the remaining episodes out.
The next episode of 'Chicago PD' will air on April 8 and it could have a big treat for fans of Adam Ruzek (Patrick Flueger) as the episode centers around him. It has been a while since we got a Ruzek-centric episode, not counting the episodes featuring his former fiancee Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) being pregnant with his baby and later when she lost the baby.
Needless to say, Ruzek has had a tough season. It started out with Ruzek in jail after he took the fall for Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) who killed a suspect while he was high. Ruzek went to the general population and suffered a bit and we saw him deal with its aftermath.
Later in the season, after the big 'One Chicago' crossover, Ruzek and Burgess spent a night together, which led to the pregnancy. While he seemed initially ambivalent to the prospect of being a father, he took the responsibility completely, being there to support Burgess whenever she needed it. Unfortunately, though he tried to be there for Burgess after she lost the baby while he was also dealing with the loss, we did not get many scenes featuring the two characters together.
In the next episode, Ruzek witnesses a women's kidnapping and then it's a race against time as Ruzek and the rest of the Intelligence Squad under the guidance of Sgt Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) try to figure out the clues and rescue the woman.
The episode will also see Burgess trying to connect with Ruzek outside of work, but the synopsis suggests he mysteriously distances himself from her. What could be going on here? Does Burgess want to get back together with Ruzek? Has Ruzek already moved on?
'Chicago PD' airs on NBC on Wednesday nights at 10/9c. The next episode will air on April 8.
