When will 'Chicago Med' Season 6 Episode 10 air? Will and Ethan clash again, Daniel faces an obsessed patient

As we inch closer to the end of Season 6, which is shorter because of the pandemic, we await the end of a few storylines that have been running since the beginning of the season

This week's episode of 'Chicago Med' potentially set up a plot that could run until the end of the season – whenever it may come. But for now, the doctors at 'Chicago Med' continue to deal with mostly the same concerns. The biggest concern that looms is the presence of a new doctor – Dean Archer (Steven Weber), who used to be Ethan Choi's (Brian Tee) boss in the Navy but is now working under him in the ER.

As we see in the ninth episode of Season 6 of 'Chicago Med', Dean has the potential to stir things up and potentially make it ugly as he does so with Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains) – more on this later – but Ethan trusts him and he is a good doctor, so it remains to be seen where the writers will take him.

'Chicago Med' Season 6: When will Episode 7 air? Ethan Choi's actions may force Will Halstead to leave hospital

As we inch closer to the end of a season -- which is shortened because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, we also await the end of a few storylines that have been running since the beginning of the season. Let's take a look at those plots, where they are as of now, and what to expect when the show returns after a break.

A still from 'Chicago Med' (NBC)

What happened previously?

Since Natalie went behind Dean's back and told Crockett about her friend, who is Dean's patient, Crockett intervenes. Dean is a smart one, however, and deduces that they double-teamed him and also understands that Natalie and Crockett are sleeping together. He goes and tells Ethan this, and cautions him that such a relationship could look bad for the hospital, should they get involved in a legal battle.

Ethan, for once in this season, was completely levelheaded and absolutely right, and goes to Natalie to ask her to let HR know about her and Crockett. Natalie is, of course, upset at the violation of her privacy and seems to have reservations, blaming Ethan for the situation while talking to Crockett. Crockett is upset at first when he realizes that she is hesitant to make their relationship public, but the two reconcile in the end and fill in the HR form.

Meanwhile, Dean, who is upset that his case was taken from him, starts interfering in Ethan's case, sending the patient's samples for a genetic test because he suspects a very rare disease. Ethan talks him down but when Dean is proven correct, Ethan thanks him and the two seem to be alright again. However, given their complicated dynamics, Dean's presence is bound to cause trouble for Ethan.

Elsewhere in the hospital, a patient treated by Daniel Charles (Oliver Platt) who is obsessed with a doctor at another hospital ends up transferring that action towards him and a very concerned and terrified Daniel that she looks forward to spending time with him.

Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) on the other hand had some smooth sailing. April Sexton (Yaya DaCosta) looked to help him add more patients to his clinical trial, but his trial completed admissions as Sabeena Virani (Tehmina Sunny) congratulated him on being such a good recruiter.

When will Episode 10 air?

'Chicago Med' is going on a short break after airing its ninth episode of the sixth season. The show will return two weeks from now, on Wednesday, March 31, at 8/7c.

What to expect from Episode 10?

The official synopsis for the next episode states, "Crockett deals with a patient who ends up having more in common with him than he thinks. Will and Ethan clash over a pregnant patient with an irregular heartbeat."

It is no surprise that Will and Ethan will continue to clash, especially given that they have been doing so at regular intervals since the beginning of the season. Will very much believed he deserved to be the ER chief more than Ethan. What would be interesting to see is if Dean gets involved in this clash.

We also wonder whether Daniel's new patient will make an appearance in the episode. Since a mention is not made in the synopsis, it seems likely that the climax of the plot would not come until closer to the end of the season, but the show could establish the patient's growing obsession over the next few episodes in short scenes.
