'Charmed' Season 2: Katrina may have been around just for a few episodes, but here's why she should come back

Katrina, played by Shiva Kalaiselvan, left Spellbound Botanica for Mel to manage in the last episode when she left Seattle. But we hope she comes back later in the season!

When 'Charmed' returned for its second season this fall on The CW, viewers got a reboot-within-a-reboot situation. In the first episode, the morning after a party, the sisters and Harry were attacked by a mysterious assassin who destroyed the Book of Shadows.

This led to the opening of a portal to the Elders Headquarters in Seattle and the sisters were transported there. Knowing their lives were in danger, the Charmed Ones had to start their lives over in Seattle, while everyone back home in Hilltown assumed that they were dead. The Elders HQ is situated in a co-working space called Safe Space which contains other offices and stores. This is how we were introduced to Jordan (from the gym) and Katrina, who ran Spellbound Botanica which sold herbs, incense, candles, and other items.

While Jordan and Maggie formed a connection, Katrina (Shiva Kalaiselvan) and Mel did the same -- though for the most part, Mel kept her at a distance despite her feelings to protect the Charmed Ones' identities.

However, Kat helped Mel and Harry meditate so they could go to the astral plane and this had adverse effects on her life. Kat began seeing worms and at one point, she saw the sisters' mother, helping out Mel and Maggie with a key piece of information.

Later, Kat's mother came to take her to a facility because they thought Kat was having issues -- the same kind that she had when she was a child. It is then that Mel tells her that Kat's visions were real and that she is a medium, showing Kat a video of her mother to prove that what Kat saw was real. However, by the end of the last episode, Kat left, leaving her store for Mel to manage.

In the second season of 'Charmed', we lost all supporting characters from the first season. Though Parker has returned, it is most likely that it will only be temporary. While the second season's reset has been mostly welcomed by viewers, one of the persevering complaints is that the show had to introduce a whole new set of supporting characters.

Katrina left just as viewers were starting to like her presence and we feel the character should have stuck around. Now that she has left, we hope Katrina comes back in the second half of the season. With her discovery that she is a medium, she would be a useful ally to the sisters, at a time when they need allies the most.

'Charmed' will air the second season's fall finale this Friday, December 6th, on The CW.
